I have been playing bass professionally since I was 16. Getting close to retirement now. So its been a lot of years. I cannot remember how many bass guitars I have bought, traded and sold. I picked up this little bass, frankly, because the years have taken a toll on my hands. I also have a Fender 5 string J bass that has become just too painful to play beyond a set or two. I wanted a smaller scale. I am so estatic with this bass. It is everything I was looking for and at an unbelieveable price to boot. It arrived to my door already set up and intonated as well as I could do myself. I did change strings but I do that with any new guitar even if the last owner just put new strings on the day before I bought it. Sure, its a one humbucker pickup rig with only two knobs. If you're looking for impressive switches and lots of extra knobs, better look somewhere else. I run this guitar through my G-K bass amp and it will shake the world. The sound is a nice full fat butted one that goes perfectly with my music. Using a pick adds a nice percussive effect too. This little one will pump up the drive and get those dancers out on the floor. I've seen it myself. If you are looking for "sexy" you might want to look at something different. You want a bass that will do the job and rule the air without any frills this is your baby. My J bass now is shut lovingly away in its hard case and this one's in the gig bag. Epi scored on this one for me. BTW- I read all the "complaints" about this bass in other reviews. Seems to me like all of those issues could be solved with a little common sense and imagination. But I'll not reveal any trade secrets here today... Blues on Ya.

.In my life I`ve had tested and bought many basses since i was 14 (I have a Fender Jazz Bass and a Mustang Bass, a Squier Precision Bass, a Ibanez Grs200, and a Rickenbacker 4001)
and the bass i liked the most in finish and sound was the EE-Epiphone-e Eb-0 Bass,
Because of it`s price, it`s amazing SG shape, it`s short-scale, it`s comfortably
to play it and it`s amazing great sound. The only thing i dislike is that it only comes with one humbucker. Totally recomended for the ones who want quality for less price.,
It`s a short-scale bass, has 20 medium frets, comes in cherry and in ebony, has one big great sounding humbucker, 1 volume and 1 tone controls, a fully adjustable bridge, it`s small and also very light and comfotable and has EE-Epiphone-e Limited . The pickguard, that most basses do not have makes it a piece of fine art and quality.
When you first look the bass on internet it is not a as beautiful as when you have it and see it the store. It`s very well made and also has an amazing finish in the headstock and in the body, and It also has an amazing SG shape.
For the finish, the features, the sound and warranty, it`s an exellent price for this bass.

.I bought one of these back in 2008 and ended up trading it and never really forgave myself for it. But I've recently gotten another one and still love this bass. The neck is slim, great for smaller players and this bass plays like a guitar (feels like one too). Its light and moves well but where it really pleases me is the tones, they aren't sharp its more of a smooth quality to the tones but that little pickup has got some range. With a good bass head you can make some shelving adjustments and REALLY see what this bass will do, and you wont be disappointed. Don't let the price of this fool you, if you spend the extra cash and drop a DiMarzio DP 145 in this thing it will rival any gibson on the shelf. Best low range price bass guitar out there, period.

.I bought this as my first bass guitar. I have been playing guitar for over 15 years now and wanted to branch out. I bought this for recording purposes and needed s cheap bass that sounded good enough to back up my guitar. I got the bass, tuned it, plugged it in and started jamming.

Being that it is a shorter neck it was easier to transition from my les Paul standard to this SG styled bass. I have been recording and have had zero problems. If I do find any, the bridge, neck, and pickup are all adjustable. Great bass!

.I had a late 60's Gibson EB-O stolen in the early 70"s and I have had an itch that needed to be scratched ever since. Vintage Gibsons are totally out of my price range and Gibson no longer makes the short scale EB-O so It had to be an Epipi. The original 3 point bridge is spotty at best and the pick-up weak, so I changed it out for a DiMarzio dp120 Model One from MF and a Hipshot Truetone bridge. After as couple of hours at my local wizard luthier and a set of DP flat wound strings... I now have a truly amazing short scale wonder! The basic guitar is very well made and straight ... my luthier actually told me he thinks it is better made than most of the Gibsons he sees these days, so for way less than the big boys, I now have the base of my dreams again!
Thanks Custom Guitar Friend!

A Bass problem Solved. Many basses Particularly the EE-Epiphone-e Eb-0 and Gibson EB basses.. But other basses also can have this problem especially short scaled ones. The problem is when the cotton or metal windings are resting over the bridge saddle. I have searched extensively over the internet and found no easy solution that would not require machine tooling and hard to find parts. What you need is a spacer that will go down the strings...and will stop at the Ball/Ring end. I came up with a very easy fix that anyone can do.. All you need are Steel 8-32 Nut?s. The Type a screw goes into. The Size is based in USA.. So foreign sized may be different.. If so just bring you ?E? string to you hardware store and try out different sizes until you land one that fits as I initially did. I found I only needed one or 2 nut?s and that moved back the windings so only the string part rested on the Saddle. The amount of nut?s needed may vary depending on the type of strings so just in case buy 5 nut per string and your covered. They cost less than 10 cents each.If using an EE-Epiphone-e EB0 bass I spoke with EE-Epiphone-e to find out the Gauge strings the Bass was designed and setup for: They told me to use: E: .105 A: .080 D: .065 G: .045 .If buying a new EE-Epiphone-e please trust me one this.. Change the strings!!! I could not find and exact match but the closest I found in gauge were all the same except for the A string being .085 in a set of Ernie Ball Hybrid slinky roundwounds - which worked perfectly.

.OK. I see a lot of people posting crap like "not loud, tone sucks" and so on. I've been playing professionally for the last 12 years. A lot of the problems addressed are amp related. I love this bass so much that I actually bought a second one. My first one was used and it was kinda through the ringer before I got a hold of it. My band played a lot of 50s and 60s rock. Recently we've been playing more 70s and 80s so I needed something with more balls than my Hofner. I have small hands and Fender Basses are too much neck for me. This bass has a great rock tone, perfect for Bad Company and stuff like that. That being said, this bass is not perfect out of the box, but I don't know a guitar that is. You will need to have it professionally set up. Have a pro set the intonation, the action will probably need to be lowered, etc. This is something I've had to have done to all my guitar, even my American Made Tele. Overall, this is a great bass for beginers or for those of us pros who are on a budget and have tiny girly hands.

.After you change the nut or machine it for flat wound strings or just about any replacement heavier gaged strings and upgrade the pickup you will have one of the nicest bass's for playing loud, heavy, fast music. The shorter neck makes a huge difference. Sounds awesome through an Ampeg stack with a 66 vintage Humbucker. Before the changes it was just good for practicing, good for a beginner, really inexpensive and looks cool but needs these changes if your in any way serious.

.I do quite a lot of recording. My main instrment is guitar with a decent ability on keyboards. I have been working with midi both in my home studio and live on gigs for more than 20 years now and have been playing professionally (full time and part time) for about 40 years now. Most of the time I do my bass parts on a midi keyboard using sounds from several different digitally sampled sources or in the past used a nice Guild bass that I borrowed from a friend. My friend moved a few years ago and I have been forced to settle for the midi bass approach. Recently I became fed up with the fact that I just struggled to get the bass feel I really wanted using a keyboard. I decided to buy a bass. I own several EE-Epiphone-e guitars and am impressed with their quality and reasonable price. I bought this bass and immediately took it home and used it plugged through an Alesis tube pre-amp into my Tascam 24 track. The sound was really deep and clear. I didn't touch the EQ while recording and only tweeked it a little while mixing. The bass was just what I was hoping for. It played great with nice action and has a solid well made feel. I use an Alesis SR 18 drum machine on most recordings and the tone of this bass works well with sampled Alesis kick drums. For something that will never leave my home studio it is the perfect bass choice for me.

.Custom Guitar's Friend quickly replaced a defective bass. Since I'm primarily a guitar player, I wanted a short scale bass. There are few options out there. When the first EB-0 arrived, I spent a couple of hours setting it up. Neck, bridge, and intonation all were way out, and a deal breaker 12th fret buzz just wouldn't go away. When I went to adjust the bridge, the screw anchor pulled up from the body of the guitar. Back in the box and a call to MF customer service. They took care of me, and a new one arrived a week later.

I'm satisfied with this EB-0. It's not a high quality bass, but a good value for the money. Good tone, easy playability with new flat wounds that I installed, looks good, decent tone (after adjusting the pick up). After the first gig, people came up to me and said that they liked the looks and tone of the new bass. The "old" bass is an entry level Hofner.
