Buy it. You will be more than satisfied. The versatility is incredible, and the picture doesnt do it justice. I have the cherry one, and the color is really like a dark red, not like the pinkish red on the picture. If you want a semihollow body guitar and cant afford a gibson, buy this guitar!
I bought the Cherry one, and it is one of the best guitars i have ever played under $1000. The stock humbuckers sound good, and the guitar can be rather loud acoustically too!
This guitar is durable and definitely well built. I have never had any issues with it except for having to adjust the bridge and the intonation, which was easy due to the tune-o-matic bridge, which also allows for quick and easy string changing as well.
This guitar is a gibson with an epiphone headstock. If i had to price it i would not sell it for under $1000 bucks. It is that good!

. I absolutely believe this is THE very best value for the money you can buy. If you're here considering buying this guitar you obviously already know about the superior tone of the 335-style guitars so there's no need to go into that. Over 300 reviews and a solid 4.5 rating. That many people can't be wrong & you wont' go wrong buying this guitar. I'm partial to Natural but like Cherry, too.
Standard Two humbucker 4-knob setup.
Don't let anyone kid you. The quality on this guitar is great. Yeah, the 'E' will fall off the pickguard in a few days. Big deal. The workmanship on this guitar is first-rate all the way and since we're talking about a semi-hollow here, a lot of work goes into building it compared to a solid body guitar. I own three of these and I'm very impressed with the quality & workmanship. Like any other guitar, especially one that has traveled half-way around the world, investing in a professional setup will be money well-spent. In this regard it is no different than any other guitar, especially Asian-made ones.
This guitar is perfectly gig-ready with no modifications whatsoever. However, should one decide to upgrade this can easily be done with remarkable results. I won't say you can make it into a Gibson 335 but I'm saying you can get about 85% there for about 25% of the $$.

.This guitar has the bite u would expect from EE-Epiphone-e. It does what it says for blues, rock, and mainly Jazz. Trust a Guy who been playing since the 3rd grade and going on 44 yrs of age this month. 3/27/69 is the big day. I know to me It feels it is the same as his Gibson expensive brother. I like the sound of this one 2 me better the stock pick ups r to me almost the same as the ones on his big bro. If a Jazz and blues bite is what u r after than this is a guitar to get that wont skies the limit your wallet, pocket or check book. The warm Jazz tone is Jazzy the blues tone is B.B. kingish some what. those sounds r depending u set your amp and effect petals. Over all I like it's sound a versatility. you Jazz and blues and rock lovers when you try before u buy think about that this is good 4 the money if you r not looking to spend 3 or 4 g's on the big bro. If you can afford it then buy all means I wash my hands of the whole point of getting this guitar. But if your on a budget like me then like I said is the one to get. good luck with your search I found mine.

.I own several medium to high en guitars and my Dot is one of my favorites. With a few upgrades I can say there is not much of a differance between it and my Gibson 335. I put in a bone nut, 57 classic and 57 classic plus pu's, and orange capaciters. The neck is great, it stays in tune thanks to the grovers, and the vintageburst looks really nice. Can't go wrong with the Dot, especially if you plan to upgrade it!
7 because the stock parts are not the best
Epiphone Dot Electric Guitar Black
.Rated it at 7 only because of the nice tones and over all nice looks but the quality of workmanship is poor.
Got my Epi Dot today and the first thing I noticed was the "E" emblem on the pickguard was coming loose. I touched it and it fell off on to the floor. It was bent and was glued on with very little glue. Shoddy work to say the least. Seems like quick, get it out the door, assembly line quality. My hopes of this being a decent guitar were fading fast. The first thing I checked was the action. The string height was very high, not acceeptable in my book at all. I made some adjustments and got it a little better but cannot lower it to much or I get buzzing and fretting out. Even the paint work on the inside of the F holes looked like a five year old did it. OK that's the bad and now for the good. I gave the rating of 7 only because I like the tones you can get and for the over all looks. Otherwise I would have rated it at about 5. I am conflicted on this guitar because even though I felt let down by some of the poor workmanship, I was impressed with the tones and sound and the over all looks are pretty good. It's a good looking guitar. After playing it a while I started to get somewhat used to the playability and I do like the way it sounds. Will I keep it? Not sure yet. I don't have the money for a real ES335 so this is probably the next best thing my budget will allow.
Workmanship is poor. Sound and tones are very good.
Not worth the money.
Epiphone Dot Electric Guitar Black
.This is my 2nd review of the EE-Epiphone-e DOT. Mine is the natural color. A few minor flaws in the finish, but its a beautiful guitar. The action was high and the intonations were way off when I first received the guitar, but that is to be expected. I made some adjustments and after that it played beautifully! The one thing that I have noticed, however, is that it has had a little trouble staying in tune. After some research, I've come to find that the nut is a completely cheap piece of plastic crap (as I originally thought) and the strings do NOT properly glide over it. The only cure is to either load it up with graphite shavings or to replace it with a higher quality nut.The tuning problems are the only issues that I've had and after I threw in the graphite shavings, I've not had a problem with tuning at all since! The guitar is solid, sounds great and plays wonderfully. It is absolutely gorgeous, too! I LOVE IT! It has become my main axe. Do yourself a favor and check it out!

.I was about to take the plunge on a Gibson ES-335 when I ran across a used EE-Epiphone-e Dot in a retail music store. As with all Asian made instruments, you need to play it and make sure it's okay, but mine is perfect.

A word of caution: Make SURE you put the right strings on it. Go with the factory recommended specs for strings, because arbitrarily changing them can upset the intonation and make it impossible to play in tune all the way up and down the scale. I made this mistake with an SG and a guitar professional at the music store straightened me out on it. When I installed the proper strings and set the adjust-0-matic bridge for proper intonation, it finally sounded good. Another reviewer complained about inability to set the intonation on the "G" string, and this may be his problem.

.I have a Koreain made DOT. Iv'e used it in musicals, cover bands, jazz, funk, blues, folk, grunge and haven't found a weakness yet.
If your looking at a do-it-all this be the one! Super warm tone one the neck pickup and you can make it cry on the bridge pickup.
Really great tone control.

You just can't beat the value here. This is a solid guitar for the money. When I got mine I had to lower the action, but I do that on far pricier guitars out of the box as well. The intonation was way off, but I was able to get it in line. The tone of the instrument is good and the pickups are pretty solid. The feel is solid and it's just down right fun to play. Pick one up and I gurantee you won't be dissapointed.
Epiphone Dot Electric Guitar Black
.I have a variety of guitars and I always wanted a good cross section of tones and sounds when playing.
I got this in the mail and I was suprised by the finish, the attention to detail, the playability out of the case. The pick-ups are perfect for what I play, classic rock. I have Strats for the Metal music and acoustics for ballad type of songs. this one covers all generes of music.
I must be the lucky one because what I have should be a Gibson, but why pay for the name when you can have the real thing for a whole lot less.
This is the Crown Jewel of EE-Epiphone-e. Why do you think John Lennon played one?
