Product Features

The EE-EE-Epiphone-e-e EL-00 PRO Acoustic-Electric guitar is a direct descendent of EE-EE-Epiphone-e-e's original line of flattops which go back to the Golden Age of acoustic guitars, the 1930s. This smaller "parlor" or "blues box" style acoustic guitar is favored by blues players of all eras for its compressed, woody tonal quality, short scale, and comfortable weigh. The combination makes it ideal for fingerpicking or the bark of a bottle neck slide. It features a select mahogany body with solid spruce top, rosewood bridge and mahagony neck, again, a mixture of tonewoods that'll fit right in the blues pocket.

Now featuring the Fishman Sonitone soundhole preamp and Fishman Sonicore pickup, the EL-00 PRO Acoustic/Electric can be plugged-in and heard on any size stage with first class acoustic/electric sound. The pickup is set underneath the saddle. The Sonitone sounhole preamp is an active preamp mounted in the soundhole with easy-to-access mounted rotary controls for Master Volume and Tone adjustment. Now you can make your adjustments during soundcheck and even fine adjustments on-the-fly during your set. No more running back and forth to your amp or the soundboard. The active preamp is powered by a single 9-volt battery. You can connect your EE-EE-Epiphone-e-e EL-00 PRO to a PA or amp of your choice with a standard ¼" instrument cable.

The EL-00 PRO Acoustic/Electric features a solid spruce top with 3-ply black and white binding. The solid spruce top will improve in tone as it ages. The more you play it, the better it will sound. The body features select mahogany with single-ply white binding on the back. The mahogany neck and body combined with the solid spruce top make for the perfect combination of tone, warmth and brilliance with a bigger sound than you would expect from a smaller-sized guitar.

The smaller body (15.5" wide at lower bout) and straight rosewood bridge also influence the EL-00 PRO's distinctive voice which is more focused than a dreadnought and perfect for singers. The rosewood bridge features a compensated imitation bone saddle. The 24.75" scale select mahogany neck has a SlimTaper D profile with a 1.68" nut and is set with a hand-fitted dovetail neck joint using premium Titebond glue. The rosewood fingerboard has a 12" radius, single-ply black binding, 19 medium frets, and pearloid dot inlays. The tortoise shell style pickguard has a vintage metal "E" and the EL-00 PRO has a Vintage Sunburst color finish.

This special guitar also features EE-EE-Epiphone-e-e's no-nonsense quality including nickel hardware, strap buttons, a 1/4" endpin, Grover 14:1 machine heads with mini-buttons, D'Addario Phosphor (12-53) strings, and carries a Limited Lifetime against defects in materials or workmanship. Case sold separately.

I'm another player who has had many high-end guitars. I've owned models by James Olson, Kevin Ryan, Martin, Taylor - you name it. So I could be considered pretty jaded when it comes to acoustic guitars.

So why did I get involved with this EE-Epiphone-e? Well, I watched 'Inside Llewyn Davis' and fell in love with his 1928 Gibson L-1. I know how my Guitar Acquisition Syndrome usually goes and figured that I would have to satisfy it or go crazy, and spending a lot of money was not gonna happen. So I found this Eppihone L-00 and figured it might be enough to shut down my GAS. I admit that I did not have high expectations - I've seen bargain guitars before and they were always disappointing.

The guitar arrived well packed and with the speed that I've become accustomed to with today's premier online stores. After unboxing it I was amazed. This is a nice guitar! The sunburst paint and finish is flawless - I could not find any spot that was not perfect. The fretboard had nice dark rosewood that went along well with the dark finish of the guitar. The set up was great right out of the box - low enough to make finger-style playing comfortable. Its tone was sweet and even across all 6 strings. The Grover tuners do their job and hold a tuning. I was stunned.

Because it was cheap and easy, I replaced the plastic bridge pins with the Graph Tech Tusq Ivory Acoustic Guitar Bridge Pins. The guitar's volume was immediately improved, so much so that I have postponed installing a Tusq saddle and nut. I recommend that everyone do this.

Of course, the real test of a guitar is whether or not you want to play it. In my case, I can't put this guitar down. It's such a sweet axe and the fact that it cost so little only makes it sweeter. I splurged on an EE-Epiphone-e case for it so it will be protected and safe from temperature swings. So, for a bargain price I got a beautiful, well made, sweet sounding guitar and case. This is a deal that should be too good to be true, but isn't.

.I was looking for something smaller & less boomy than a dreadnaught, with onboard electronics, that would still have enough projection & improve with age. The specs & the appearance kept drawing me back to it,and it has pretty much delivered what I was seeking. Other than the action on the bass side being slightly high,I couldn't find any flaws with it. The finish is beautiful, the intonation is pretty close & the neck feels great. The nut height & neck adjustment are perfect, and the top strap button is already installed on the inside of the heel. The top is a little wavy, and I assume it's some sort of poly finish, but I'm hoping the sound will open up as it ages & is played more. I'm not usually a fan of Grovers, but their weight isn't an issue, and I really like the mini buttons. The E logo on the pickguard is a nice touch,as well. It sounds great plugged in,though the tone control takes some getting used to,but it's nice to have the controls in an accessible, yet discreet location. I'd say I'm pretty happy with it & have no regrets in my purchase.

.I've had a few weeks to bond with this one and I love it. Not only looks & sounds great, it's a player. The slim D profile neck feels great and I like the way my fingers bounce across the nice rosewood fretboard.

On first string change, I changed the nut to a Tusq for EE-Epiphone-e, 1/4". Easy swap with NO sanding. Also changed the bridge pins to all black Tusq. The bridge saddle is fine as are the Grover tuners which look good and hold pitch.

So bottom line, this great guitar is making me practice more & try other things like finger picking or just playing with out a pick. All good things for any student of the guitar.

I also got the EE-Epiphone-e case for this model. It's built like a tank and also fits my Ibanez AF-55 perfectly.

Lastly, I gotta plug the Gear Heads. A few minute phone call asking for coupons saved me a nice chunk of change on my guitar & case order.

I don't do reviews , never have yet I feel this guitar deserves one.

I have been looking at these since they came out with the none electric model.

I have a smaller Parlor guitar and a larger AJ series and wanted something right in the middle .

This EL-00 Pro has a good bottom end and a nice equal sound across all the strings. It looks well made, nice bracing for the top , even a center brace inside for the back. It sure offers great features like the Gover tuners they really work well and binding on the body is very well done and the sunburst finish all make it function well as well as look stunning.

I really like the size and tone this guitar offers.

I had my eyes on the Gibson Blues King for years yet it was far out of my price range. Ever since EE-Epiphone-e came out with the EL-00 Pro I finally found a guitar with that look and sound that I could afford.

I have been playing guitar since 1963 so I know my way around. My EL-00 Pro came well packed and was delivered fast Custom Guitars Friend does a fine job . It was set up playable out of the box . I like a bit higher action and this is something I will do in the near future, Every guitar needs to be set up to personal preference. You can even change the saddle and nut and bridge pins like some do , to be honest it sounds great just like it is.

It has a few tiny finish blemishes yet nothing that stands out without close inspection.

If you are like me and can't afford something like the Gibson Blues King and want something affordable with all the basic looks and tone and love to play the blues then this is definetly for you. If you like to play with a pick it works very well for any style of music you may be into. Nothing I've seen comes close at this price. It's not a parlor guitar , it's an all around blues tone instrument with a much larger voice. I'm really impressed , it sounds as good as guitars 4 times this price.

If you want to plug it into an amp you are set. It also has the strap buttons already installed. You can play straight acoustic or plug it in for the times when you need more volume sounds great either way and do it sitting down or use your favorite strap and play standing up.

One of the features of many is it does not look like it has electronics installed , no cutout on the side just a simple vol and tone control set at the edge of the sound hole.

I suggest getting the case made specifically for this guitar to protect it at home or if you take it out and also since it has a solid spruce top you need a hard shell case to keep it humidified so the top and neck and all the wood does not dry out or crack . I got the case simply because I want this guitar to last for many years to come. It's good insurance for any guitar especially an acoustic.

This guitar is hard to put down so I'm off to play .

.I have wanted this little guitar for over two years so I was excited to receive it from Custom Guitarsfriend. It came packed well as with everything I have purchased from EE-Epiphone-e and Custom Guitarsfriend. Set-up was flawless and sound was just as bright as I had hoped for and awaited. Color, finish and binding were flawless. However I have two complaints. The 9 volt battery inside the soundhole is impossible for me to get to. I do not like to leave batteries in my guitar when I am not playing them. It zapps the batteries and there is NO way you will get 100 hours out of the battery. This was very Poor planning. I am wondering if the electronics were put into these models as an afterthought after the acoustic versions were not selling well? And second I am not a fan of the rear strap button being the same as the 1/4 chord jack. Again I much prefer a separate jack so a standard strap can be used. I own multiple EE-Epiphone-es of different models as well as multiple Gibson models. The Sound is amazing. The scale is great for playability but not sold on the electronics...

.A beauty straight out of the box! Fit, finish, action, tone, playability: ALL EXCELLENT!!

.I once owned A Gibson guitar very similar to this one. It was in bad shape and I couldn't afford at the time to have it repaired. I've allways loved this style of guitar. When I seen this guitar, I knew I had to have it. So it came as a xmas present. I checked out a bunch of different reviews on this guitar. Several of them felt,: this was an overlooked guitar." Most people like larger guitars . Don't let its size fool you. It packs plenty of volume with a great tone. The Fishman built in pickup makes it great for live performance. Doc Watson, the great guitar picker, used Fishman in his guitar. For the price, quality and sound, you can't beat it.

.Checked em all, and this is the best tone for me. I play classic roc, country, and blues. Great materials used, and best for the money, hands down! Great tone thru my Fender Acoustasonic Jr!
