.I just received this instrument yesterday. The action is spot on for me right out of the box with no fret buzz. The tone is better than expected and the coil taps are great. The sound quality is comparable to my Gibson Les Paul Studio. My only complaint is that the frets are not polished, they are somewhat rough. But for a guitar of this caliber under $500 I'll buy a Dremel tool and polishing wheels. I'm still giving five stars because the price can't be beat.

.This guitar is great! The tone is amazing, I like the fact that the humbuckers are coil tapped. The set up is spot on right out of the box. The only upgrade I would recommend is install a pair of Schaller Strap Locks, especially considering the awkward position of the top strap button on a SG. The dual cut outs are great for reaching the higher frets. Except for the fact that it says EE-Epiphone-e on the headstock I would never know that I'm not playing a Gibson SG.

.I have the right-handed version by the way. Well so far the guitar has exceeded my expectations, the coil tap feature gives the guitarist various tonal options that will surely fit whatever genre you intend to play. At the price range this guitar belongs, this guitar's pretty hard to beat! I haven't gigged or recorded using with it yet, but it would absolutely withstand gigging and studio playing. I have gigged with an Ibanez GAX30 and an EE-Epiphone-e G-310 and never had any issues with them so I am sure this guitar would perform better than the two. Neck diving should not be much of an issue anymore since they have replaced their tuners with Wilkinson Vintage ones rather than the heavier Grover Tuners(like what my EE-Epiphone-e G-310 has). I have a demo using this guitar, check it out if you have the time! Cheers!

.You get what you pay for. A cheap lefty guitar, when options are limited. However, it is useable, and has a surprisingly nice tone. Poor setup from the factory, they just put the strings on. Expect that you will have to have the nut slots filed to the proper height (~20 dol). I did the rest of the setup myself--adjust neck, optimize string height, intonation, etc. Poor craftsmanship/attention to detail includes: poorly cut nut (high E slot too wide, but was shallow enough to go deep and work around it); a slight high spot on the neck (slight string height and neck adjustment fixed); nickel plating on the stop bar missing on a small spot (have to check with company for replacement); a chip on the lacquer on the butt end of the neck facing the pickups (no choice but to live with that). I like the option/sound of the coil split for the pickups. However, surprised at how noisy they are in split-coil mode. At the very least, I expected both pickups in split mode to cancel the buzz (as with a Strat position 2 and 4), however, these pickups don't cancel in the middle position. Seems like they should, but I am not versed in split coil wiring yet. Stock pickups are surprisingly decent. I would normally upgrade pickups, but I'm leaving these in for a while. Paint job really good on this guitar, and the tuners feel precise, though appear a bit cheap. Overall, I didn't expect much for the price, but it is a serviceable instrument for a lefty.

.I'm a novice but just love the feel and tone of this guitar......have a tele but wanted to rock form time to time....and really you need humbuckers for that...this guitar has a nice neck...not too thick....some SGs i have looked at at had thick necks...this one is perfect.....split coil is a bonus....doesn't sound like a tele but it actually sounds more acoustic....and you can mix and match them.....plus cherry finish is beautiful....GREAT buy for the money....

.Neck is longer than the norm and it should be offered in white for we lefties, c'mon EE-Epiphone-e, give it a push for white SGs in lefthand.

.I was totally blown away at the quality of this guitar. I love Gibson's, but they're not in my wheelhouse aka price range.. I think the Big G deserves major Kudos for serving the market with much more affordable, but still great guitars. Fit and Finish is flawless. The Epi Buckers with the coil splits are articulate, lush, thick, or chimey and twangy. It's easy to dial in so many tasty tones on this guitar. The neck is nice and wide too. Easy to play, sounds amazing, and it's affordable.
