Product Features

The Hummingbird is one of the most famous acoustic guitar designs and its preference as the go-to acoustic for rockers like The Rolling Stones' Keith Richards, pioneer country rocker Gram Parsons, and multi-platinum artist Sheryl Crow is proof that the Hummingbird is a must-have for its warm but pronounced tone that perfectly compliments voices that have a story to tell. Now with the Limited Edition EE-EE-Epiphone-e-e Hummingbird Artist you can get that iconic sound in a no-frills all-tone package.

Rock, Country, and Everything In Between
The Hummingbird-style acoustic has appeared on some of the most famous albums in rock history including Exile On Main Street and the Hummingbird Artist carries on that tradition with a stripped-down, just-the-basics look that still retains all of the Hummingbird's vital tone and construction features. After all, it's all about tone and the Hummingbird Artist has got it.

The Hummingbird Artist features a spruce top and mahogany body for a warm but balanced tone that sounds great played solo or riding on the top of a mix with a stinging electric guitar. The easy fitting hand-set 25.5" mahogany neck has a rosewood fingerboard with eye-catching Split Diamond pearloid inlays. That iconic inlay pattern was a break from tradition in the '60s and is still one of the Hummingbird's many visual trademarks. The strings pass through a rosewood bridge with a synthetic bone saddle and the soundhole is framed with a tortoise shell style pickguard cut to the classic Hummingbird style. The 1.68 nut-width is ideal for the classic Hummingbird body shape and SlimTaper neck and holds steady for hard rhythm styles as well as fingerpicking.

I've been playing guitar for 55 years and have played and had every brand of guitar thats out there...Martin,Gibson,Fender,Taylor,Etc...you name it, I've played it...This guitar is just as good as any of them..For the price and the Craftsmanship & playability you can't beat it...Beautiful finish too...Right out of the box wasn't bad...I adjusted the truss rod and put a lighter gauge string on it, played perfect, lost a little bottom end but not much...The key's are made like they used to be with plastic buttons but with one new thing which is better with a 18 to 1 Ratio for more accurate tuning than which most key's are only 14 to 1 Ratio...I would recommend this guitar to anyone...

.Beautiful fit and finish. The blueburst is very nice. The setup was quite good out of the box. For most users it would be fine but the action was a little higher than I like. I did have it setup at my local guitar center which has an excellent guitar tech to make it perfect. It sounds great. The mahogany makes great tone and projection. This guitar looks and sounds equal or better than guitars costing much more. I now own four EE-Epiphone-es: this acoustic, a Dove Pro and two electrics, a classic 1966 Casino and a 2014 Les Paul Custom Pro. I do love Epi's. My other acoustics are a Martin HD-28, a 1966 Gibson B-25 and a 1975 Alvarez. Playability and performance of this Hummingbird hangs right in with any of the others. The Martin ($3000) with its Rosewood back and sides is just a tad louder with a bit deeper tone.
In my opinion you can't go wrong with this guitar.

.I was skeptical in purchasing this guitar as I have owned other EE-Epiphone-e guitars in the past that just didn't cut it. This one does cut it. The fit and finish is flawless. After playing it for about 3 hours I knew it was a keeper. I then put a set of new strings on it, replaced the bridge w a Tusq unit that I had one hand and it was shorter than the stock plastic one. I now plays beautiful ! The mahogany body gives it a nice warm tone that I was looking for. Mine is the blue burst model and it looks stunning in the light. The tuners feel tight and after the new strings stretched out, it stays in tune quite well.

.I have been playing guitar for 45 years. In that time I have played mostly electric. I have owned some really good acoustics as well but did not expect the quality this Hummingbird delivers. The highs and lows are great and the volume is really good. I did nothing to the guitar out of the box except play it and I am very impressed to get a guitar of this quality at this price range. The construction looks awesome, beautiful finish with a great binding. Overall a great instrument at a great price.

.Right out of the box, this guitar is striking. Nicely wrapped and packaged. Not a scratch or ding. This guitar is a 24.75 scale, almost an inch shorter than the standard 25.5, so the feel is close and comfortable. The only thing I've done was replace the strings. I went with a Martin lights and the sound is really good. Nice warm lows and vocal highs. This is a more than basic, starter guitar for a basic, starter price. This is my second acoustic and I'm thinking about getting the electric/acoustic. I love it. Don't pass this one up.

.I am mostly into progressive jazz and modern contemporary Christian music. Wanted an instrument for writing scores and playing them to critique myself without having to rig up my amplified instruments. This instrument was truly attractive as all the reviews seem to agree, but I was not impressed by the tonal quality or the playing action. I could have corrected the playing action with modification but that would have been technically causing the instrument to be used. As for the tone I personally found it to sound like a tin can(maybe a banjo?) so I returned it and ordered my first choice a nylon string classical instrument. I have an old guitar, steel string, that actually sounded better probably because of its age and lighter tru-oil finish.

.Experienced drummer. Bought this guitar as a starter for my 15 year old daughter. She plays clarinet in marching band but wants to branch out with something different. Bought it as Christmas present but she hasn't received it yet. I was excited to get it out of box. Finish was flawless. Came pretty much set up and ready to play. I know a few basic chords and guitar sounded fantastic. Neck is nice and slim and a little bit shorter than standard. Think it will fit her perfectly and can't wait to see the look on her face when she opens it!

.I'm a songwriter and this guitar is inspiring to play and to use in my writing!
