Product Features

The Ltd. Ed. AJ-100 Acoustic Guitar shares the classic Advanced Jumbo style acoustic that’s been making history for nearly a century, now built especially for new players. The Ltd. Ed. AJ-100 sets a new standard for entry-level instruments without sacrificing tone, style, or quality. The new AJ-100 is available only at Select EE-EE-Epiphone-e-e Dealers

The first “100” series guitar, the EE-EE-Epiphone-e-e DR-100 “Dreadnought” style, has been EE-EE-Epiphone-e-e’s best-selling acoustic guitar for over a decade and is renown for its bold tone. The new AJ-100 "Advanced Jumbo" or sloped shoulder acoustic guitar is just as famous for having a slightly sweeter tone that’s perfect for both leading a band and for solo singers.

The AJ-100 features a mahogany body and a select spruce top, one of the premier tonewoods for superior acoustic sound. The select spruce top is braced internally in the same style as vintage "Advanced Jumbo" guitars to give the AJ-100 its trademark up-front tone. The mahogany neck has a SlimTaper "D" profile that’s easy to hold for long hours of play. The neck is glued to the body and hand-set so the entire guitar resonates as if it were a single piece of wood. The Mahogany neck has a rosewood fingerboard with a 12 in. radius and 20 Medium Jumbo frets. The bigger the frets, the easier it is on your fingers when learning to press down strings and form chords. The neck is fully adjustable via a truss rod under the traditional EE-EE-Epiphone-e-e & Gibson "bell-shaped" cover. The AJ-100 also has a rosewood bridge with a compensated saddle for consistent intonation.

Tuning the Ltd. Ed. AJ-100 is easy with EE-EE-Epiphone-e-e machine heads with a 14:1 that make learning to tune easy, intuitive, and best of all–fast and accurate.

Thjis guitar sounds and looks great except for all the glue dripping in 6 inch patches inside the body. But the real problem is the bridges...I bought three of these...and all three had poorly glued bridges, causing them to visibly lift from the top. Defective bridges..that's the problem here.

.I bought this guitar for a friend's 15 year old son that said he wanted to learn to play guitar. It arrived in a few days, and I went to set it up and it was already fairly well set up straight out of the box. neck is straight, string action was good, and I was able to adjust it even better. I tuned it up and played it for a while and I was really impressed by the sound, comfort and feel of this INEXPENSIVE (not cheap) guitar. I gave it to him and he was very happy with it, and plays it every day. I highly reccomend this guitar for anyone just starting out. excellent student guitar.

.I picked this guitar up on a pre-Christmas special for a ridiculous price. I'd bought the EE-Epiphone-e PR-150 about a year and a half ago and I just loved that guitar. I knew I'd get another model eventually. I've really come to like EE-Epiphone-e acoustic guitars. The AJ-100 is a more compact than the big PR-150. My interest was piqued for that reason. So I decided to get one.

Out of the box I was knocked out by the look of the guitar. But most important is the sound. The guitar has a very sweet, warm tone. With bright highs (not too tinny) and robust mids and lows. At first I had an issue with the intonation and attenuation of the guitar between the individual strings. The neck tuned out fine. Even though I loved the appearance of this particular guitar—very nice workmanship: the top and back are gorgeous—I was giving consideration to sending the it back. So, as a last resort, I changed the strings out with a new set of D'Adarrios. That did the trick!

And ever since, the guitar has been quickly developing a rich, full tone. Very nice. For the price, there's not a better guitar out there. The one I got is a real beauty and I'm looking forward to playing it at my next gig. At some point I would like to put new tuners on this (as with the PR-150) guitar, as the stock EE-Epiphone-e standard issues leave a bit to be desired. But changing tuners on an EE-Epiphone-e guitar is easier said than done. So that upgrade will have to wait until I can find better tuners that will fit. Ultimately: Great guitar. Great sound. Easy to play. I can't put it down. Now the PR-150 is jealous.

.Since I work away from home, I bought this guitar to keep at work so I wouldn't have to travel with one. I honestly didn't expect the guitar I got for the price. It looked like an excellent deal on SDOTD, so I figured what the heck. It's a good guitar, period. It stays in tune. It's easy to chord. It looks fantastic and sounds great! I have been playing guitar for 20+ years and have played some awful acoustic guitars that cost considerably more than this one. This is a good deal even at the regular price. This would be PERFECT for someone to learn on. Based on the guitar that I received, don't hesitate to buy this one.
