Hi,
I did not read the other reviews, yet noticed the mid-star rating. This device is excellent for finding the pace of a tune or where the director wants the tune to be with the tap function and with the options of built in sound, headphone jack, lcd screen with pendulum type graphics and red led's for gigging, it's a great tool. I use this constantly and just bought two more for my church gig where I have to keep 8 to 12 folks on cue. If you are looking for lot's of fancy rhythms and detailed sub-divisions, you'll need to spend more.
Batteries last a long. long time. Again, great tool for a drummer.

.Do not waste your money. I can't believe boss put this junk on the market. My brother in law and myself pruchase at the same time. After a couple of months of use it the settings start reverting back to 120bpm. Also the ear phone jack stopped working and it causes it to revert back to the same beat. Do not waste your money

.Bought this a little over a year ago, worked great for a while. Couple months back (right before a gig actually, how convenient) it started resetting itself when headphones were plugged in with the volume up. No headphones, works fine. Yes headphones, plays one beat, turns off, turns back on. It is now essentially useless. No one knows why it does this, store I got it from basically said 'yeah dude this thing is broken' and Roland/BOSS won't do anything about it. Don't buy this unless you need a paperweight that goes beep boop.
Boss DB-30 Dr. Beat Metronome
.This is one of the poorest designed metronomes I've ever used - and being a pro drummer, I have used a few.
The control panel is not intuitive to use, and is hence annoying.
However, the worst thing is the design of the battery bay. To change the battery you need a small Philips-head screw driver to remove the screw (which is small and easily dropped and lost), and then a small flat-head screwdriver to prise the battery out; two small screwdrivers to change the battery?!! Come on BOSS, you can't be serious.

.A good product. Lightweight. Clear display. Easy to use. Allows selection of meter (2/4, 4/4, 7/4, etc.). No memory. The sound is fixed (a kind of beep). I found it annoying at first (I was expecting more of a click), but I got used to it quickly. The unit has an actual volume knob which makes adjusting the volume quick and easy. Works fine for practice, probably wouldn't be very useful for live work as it does not store settings.

.Nice features at first, although not nearly loud enough. Problem is that after a few months it became completely unreliable and now will not work for more than a few beats before resetting. Do not buy this unless you intend to replace on a regular basis.

.I have had the same problem with my Boss DB-30 Dr. Beat Metronome resetting itself to 120 bpm. Someone on here recommends to change the battery, but the problem is in the earphone plug. If I take out my earphone, the unit works fine. If I plug in my earphone, and select a tempo and beat, a slight touch to the jack will reset the unit....hence it is crap....
Boss DB-30 Dr. Beat Metronome
.I have experienced this same problem with the Boss DB-30 that many others has listed. After about 3 months, and once I was over 1500 miles from the store I purchased it at, it started to constantly reset itself to 120. I now have about 25 spare batteries for it, but even with a brand new battery it is shorting out. I'm bummed, as it's hard to find a pocket metronome with a clave feature. Oh well..
Boss DB-30 Dr. Beat Metronome
.When it worked it was great; after a couple of months of use it turned off and on erratically. Tried replacing the batteries, but no luck. Unfortunate, as it's otherwise well-made and quite handy.
Boss DB-30 Dr. Beat Metronome
.This metronome has great features for learning different beats. It's pretty easy to use once you figure it out. The best part is you get to buy lots of batteries for it. If it were not for this feature, I would not recomend it. If you like changing batteries, this metronome is for you!
