You can do a lot with this guy. Two guitars into one amp, one guitar to two amps, toggle back and forth between effects pedals, and more. Almost anything you can think of can be accomplished with this little guy. No insertion losses, no pops, cracks or hisses. Just switches your sound around, and does it well. .It's made by Boss - so it's build like a tank.
If yours in noisy then look at your cables and routing - even you power supply - before you blame the pedal. I use Mogami 2524 and George L's on my board with high quality power source and there is no noise in my board - period.
To the pedal - I use mine to pull effects in and out of the signal chain to keep my signal path quiet. I have two - and each pedal has two loops each.
I have one pedal with Octave-->Dist-->EQ in one loop and my Tremolo pedal in the other. The other LS-2 has my Digital Delay in one loop with a volume pedal after the delay. Run your delay full wet and use the pedal as A+B-->Bypass - so you have a good dry signal and use your volume pedal to mix in the delay's wet signal - it's a really cool advantage to this set up.
The possibilities are endless - almost - with this pedal - and it keeps my signal as clean as I can get it due to pulling half of my pedals out of the signal path when I don't need them.
Buy one and experiment with it - you may find that you need more than one also.

.I love this pedal. It opens up your sound to so many possibilities! Rugged BOSS construction. Comes with a very helpful connection chart. Makes changing guitars at gigs redundant, you can have upto three guitars plugged in from the get go and just pickup whichever one you need and stomp on this pedal. Magic! I don't find any tone coloration.

.The problem is I have two Boss BCB-60 pedal boards with various effects, including the ME-70 multi-effects, and I hate to turn all of the pedals on and off. Now with the LS-2, I can leave everything one and switch between the "A" and "B" boards with one tap on one pedal.

.This thing keeps me from tap dancing at gigs. I just use it to have 2 separate channels. On my clean channel, I have a compressor, reverb and a phaser. On my distorted channel, I have a preamp, tube distortion and an eq. Can you imagine switching 6 pedals on and off to switch sounds? Just one button and its done. Now, I felt bad about paying the price for it but when i got it and looked at all the different configurations and uses, I put that feeling in the trash can. You really can't afford to not have it.

.I have the Ernie Ball Pan Pedal. It's kinda scratchy, but allows you to dynamically pan between signal A and B. It's also completely passive, so you can connect A and B to separate clean and dirty amps. I've never used it since I got the Boss LS-2. With the LS-2 you have A & B send-return chains with their own gain control, and you can switch the mode of how the pedal stop sequence operates to a-b, a-bypass, b-bypass, a-b-bypass, and ab mix-bypass.Sometimes in the Deathbillies I play guitar only to play accompaniment chords under the solos, so I set the LS-2 to a-b mode. The a-send green knob is set at about 50%. The a-send cable runs through a Marshall Guv'nor pedal to input 3 on the JamHub mixer, which everyone can hear. The b-send red knob is cranked up to 100% to compensate for the fact that it has no distortion. The b-send cable goes to input 2 on the mixer with no effects, and only I get to hear input 2 on the mixer, so I can play through the whole song with the LS-2 b-send red-light on and no one else can hear me. When it's time to play the solo chords, I stomp the LS-2 into its a-send green-light mode, which sends the distorted chain to input 3 which everyone can hear.

.I have always had volume problems when changing guitars (between a Gibson Les Paul with humbucker that a much hotter than the single coils in my Fender Strat with Vintage pickups). So then I started running it at the beginning of my pedal chain, using the A-B mode with A cranked up at 2 o'clock for my Strat and B at 12 o'clock for my Les Paul. I eventually moved it after my Fulltone pedals because it was causing my Fulltone 70's Fuzz to make a weird farting noise on the attack. I still use it for its original purpose. It has served great for touring: www.jasonmorant.com It's awesome, though I have had problems with it switching between A and B, got to hit is twice sometimes.

.Bought the pedal because I needed it. Very, very useful when it worked. Actually, given my pedal setup, necessary. But 3 gigs and a few months of gentle treatment later, it's dead. Can't find the receipt, so Boss won't honor the warrantee (there *is* a serial number on the back, so it's not like they can't figure out how old it is, and whether it's still within the warrantee period). Even if they did honor the warrantee, they're too slow to help (I have gigs to play, and God knows when I'd get my pedal back). It's a great pedal, as long as you don't actually use it.

.I originally purchased this pedal to split my guitar input to to seperate amp (Line 6 Flextone II and a Mesa Triple Rec.) I found a lot of noise in my setup with the pedal feeding both amps, sounded awesome but when i stopped playing there was a lot of noise, I was using a 9v battery and never tried it with the power supply. I really don't think it was the fault of the pedal though. With my experiences, I can't highly recommend this pedal for people looking to do the same thing, save your pennies and buy a Voodoo Lab =).HOWEVER, this thing kicks major ass beside a slew of stomp boxes. It's pretty much a 2 channel mixer and can do some crazy mixing between effects, etc. So if you're looking to get some unique effects with boxes, it's a great investment. Plus it can power those stomp boxes, no more wall warts and power strips laying in front of you and in the way. Overall it's a very good pedal and Boss/Roland makes some seriously rugged boxes (ran over one a few years ago and it still friggin works!) You won't be dissapointed.

I use this to switch between two amps, though it completes a ground circuit and causes hum (Neither amp has ground lift). I was hoping this wouldn't be an issue, but I have since corrected it via modifications. Outside of that the pedal does everything it should and does it well.
Rugged Boss construction. This pedal will last a long time.
I managed to get a used pedal through Custom Guitars Friend and it was like new. Great pedal for the money and extremely versatile.
