Product Features

Combining sophisticated sound with simple operation, the VE-2 Vocal Harmonist delivers a complete effects solution for all singers, particularly those that perform with guitar. This portable, battery-powered stompbox has everything you need to create polished, studio-quality sounds everywhere you sing, from concert stages and street performances to practicing and having fun at home.

The VE-2 magically creates beautiful harmonized vocals that follow your singing, with pitch that automatically tracks the chords played on a connected guitar, a preset key, or a combination of the two. Using one of these three operation modes, it's easy to create perfect real-time harmonies in any key, even if you have no experience with gear or music theory.

In addition to harmony, the VE-2 provides essential effects to enhance your voice, such as high-quality reverb/delay and an enhancer with real-time pitch correction. Also included is a USB audio function that allows you to connect to your computer and easily capture impressive VE-2 vocal sounds for music recordings, social media videos, and more.

Real-time vocal harmonies and high-quality effects in an affordable, easy-to-operate pedal Auto Harmony function automatically detects chords played on a connected guitar and generates perfectly matching harmonies, even during mid-song key changes Solo singers can create harmonies by manually setting the song key with a dedicated panel knob Hybrid mode creates harmonies based on both guitar chord input and the manual key setting, perfect for songs where the guitar part transitions between rhythm and lead playing 24 harmony types to choose from (12 one- and two-voice harmonies plus variations that provide even fuller sounds) Friendly user interface that's simple to use, even for vocalists not familiar with using effects Easily dial up reverb and delay effects with a single knob Enhance function controls dynamics and applies subtle pitch correction as you sing Three memories for storing favorite settings Runs on four AA-size batteries or optional PSA-series AC adapter XLR mic input with phantom power (phantom power is available even when running on batteries)

bought this for a gig...was looking for the TC singer.... glad i found this !

i have vocalits from the origianl VH-5 ..4 total digi-tech, up to the voice live and the tc pitch correction unit...

i know a little about them.. i use them nightly...

never had a bad Roland or Boss product.... this one is no exception... well built... few knobs and they all do specificaly what i need... very easy to set up.... has all the in/out conections i need... way more versital than the TC Helicon singer...

the momentary footswitch sold me... the delay/rev was added bonus, and the pitch correction was double value added...

download the manual... read it a few times and wrap your head around what they are saying... then you can see...

again i play a number of gigs with a number of rigs and usually have a fixed set up ( my tc helicon is attached to my acoustic rig, i use a digitech with a bass set up and it tracks pretty good) this was for a specific gig i picked up and the VE-2 made the night a success.... i bought it, it arrived, i opened the box, put it in the van and went to a gig... ( i had already read the manual ).... flawless...

if you use pitch correction you know about the chorus effect you hear ( only you hear it )..if you dont know what i am talking about then do a search... i knew instatnly the pitch correction was preset to a setting that was very much like i would have set it if i had adjusted it.... so plug and play and set up very easy.....

the rev/delay and pitch correction are on all the time for me ( selectable ) and the monentary FS is for harmony ( i use first one of some 12 choices ..kinda 3rd up ).. other options may fit you.....but that is the one i like..

tracked guitar well... i like the abality to turn OFF the phantom power....i dont use it and nver like to have it on my mikes all the time.. and has the xlr in and out for mike...1/4 for guioar in/out.. and you can even add a external FS ( not something i need. but you might )

a lot packed into a tiny well constructeed box...

i like it.

apparenlty it was the new 2014 namm release. being me, i just found it... but i see few reviews and dong a search little about them so far..

maybe this will help you.

.I used to have a TC Helicon Harmony G and the harmonies sounded kind of fake, this sounds way more realistic and I think the pitch correction option will come in handy on "bad vocal days". It seems a lot sturdier than my TC Helicon pedal and I like the ease of use. All the controls are straight forward and without even having to read the manual I was able to plug it in and use it immediately (but read the brief manual as there are some options like setting up presets and such that are not as straight forward and that the pedal has multiple functions depending on how long you press it). My only complaint is that the guitar signal is not output through the XLR out jack, only the vocals and harmonies, it would have been nice to have and option of everything coming out through one but the guitar only outputs from the guitar thru jack, not that big a deal but it would have been ideal for an open mic for example to just plug one jack into the sound board and you're all set. Otherwise I would give it 5 stars.

.I bought a VE-2 because I wanted an AC free set up for weddings and other out door events, and even some small indoor venues where it would just be simpler to set up with my battery powered PA without fooling with extension chords and AC connections. Unfortunately, I found the VE-2 harmony was not as accurate as it is on my other two harmony devices. Also, after using auto harmony devices for a couple years now, I have found that using only a single 'one up' harmony keeps glaring miscues to a minimum. By adding a unison double for the second 'harmony' voice the chorus parts have the thickness and texture that is the goal of using this effect, while helping greatly to cover inevitable harmony glitches. Unlike my other units, the VE-2 does not offer the option of creating a harmony set up with one voice up and one voice unison. Listening to playback of my other units and the VE-2, the difference in consistency and quality of the harmony effect was clear and sadly I realized this was not a device I would want to use professionally.

.I used to have a Harmony Singer pedal from TC Helicon and before that the Harmony G-XT. I made the move to this Boss VE-2 after watching every performance video I could find on YouTube. I use this as my backup section for my lead singer in our acoustic duo. You can control how much of your true voice comes through alongside the harmonies. This is an excellent option as I often sing the same melody as the lead. Now I can take that down and keep the harmony volume up. When I sing lead on a song, such as "Lady" by Styx, I use the two harmonies on the chorus with my voice. I don't care much for the pitch correct but the enhance button is sweet! Memory can hold three of your favorite setups for quick access when switching songs. There's even a way you can even have different harmonies within the same song. I haven't tried that yet, as I haven't run into the need so far. I love the VE-2 and it does a lot for the price. Never had a sub par Boss product.
