Product Features

The C-100 utilizes Fishmans patented floating mount system for easy installation in the wing slot of the bridge. A 1/4" tailpiece mounted jack and 10' cable complete the package.

Adding a preamp will help realize the full frequency response of the pickup. It is recommended, but not required.

I've played in rock bands with this baby for years now. I love how it isn't some bulky system. It isn't complicated. No bells and whistles. It's a cello pickup. My sole complaint is that when you're really amped up, it gives you feedback. Specifically, it makes my G-string vibrate. There's probably a way around that, but it hasn't bothered me enough to worry about it. I recommend it.

.This is a good sounding pickup and is easy to mount. To get the best sound you need a preamp; we're using an LR Bags Para DI. I've used Fishman pickups on guitars and also my resonator, so when my wife needed a pickup for her cello I decided to get this one.

Without a preamp this pickup can sound a little harsh. This isn't uncommon with piezo based pickups. They have a very high impedance well above what the input of most guitar amps expect. You'll be doing a lot of eq without the preamp, so my advice is to budget for one.

My wife especially likes that she doesn't have to modify her 1800s instrument or have to worry about issues when getting a new bridge.

She'll be using this mostly when playing with our church praise band. We've had issues with feedback when using a microphone. The stage is close to the PA so we got this to help with that and get her more present in the mix.

If you're looking for any pickup to sound exactly like a well mic'd cello in a studio - it won't. However this pickup has a good balanced sound even when fun flat.

Recommended.
