I've tried several well-known aftermarket bridges only to return to the original on my fretless J-Bass and MIJ P-Bass. Reason? The small barrels allow for lower height adjustment, the gnurled surfaces hold the strings securely, and the slotted height adjustment screws are easy to use. Unless you are a manic slapper, these bridges are rock-solid and the nickel barrels age nicely. There's a reason why this style has endured, and the genuine re-issue does feel a bit heavier than the "standard" look-alike found on MIM basses. Go for it.

.I replaced a Leo Quann BA II bridge with this. The weight difference is obvious. I was nervous about an adverse effect on tone, the Leo Quann was designed to improve tone, right, but the vintage bridge actually sounds better to me. It brought out a little stronger mid. The low isn't as defined as it was with the BA II, but not in a bad way, it just sounds warmer and more classic. I definitely recommend this bridge.

.I used this bridge to convert a 5 string bass into a 4 string. A first when I pulled it out of the box it seemed to be quite small and really light, I thought it would effect the sustain in a bad way... Yet it didn't. It's quite durable for being so light & Pretty wide string spacing on it that works great for the slap bassist's.

.Not a bad bridge for the money. I have a MIM Standard Fender Jazz, the stock bridge fell apart after a few months of hard playing in my old band. This one hasn't had any trouble so far and it seems to be more durable. I would have gottent he BADASSII but couldn't afford it, but this one works just fine.
Hard to find a small standard screw driver for this bridge (not included), but you can just loosen your string and manually adjust it.

.Solid, direct replacement for Squier VM Jazz. Highly recommend.

.I build basses. Minor complaint is the holes which hold the string ends are very large... They almost let the ferrules slip thru...but not quite..

.I bought a used MIM 2006 jazz bass and the bridge was a bit rusty and has tuning problems. So I ordered one of these puppies and slapped it in. I put some chromes on it and they sound great. Right out of the box the bridge was close to being tune when i put tension on it. With a few height adjustments im ready to go! Also I think its a cool look to spice up MIM or lower basses.

.I use this to replace the badly aging bridge on my early 00's mim jazz bass. Really easy to install. Looks sharp. Only feature of this vs the stock is the barrels the strings go over. Since there is more than one place for the string to sit, it took an extra while to intonate.

.Haven't mounted it yet. Seems to be well made. Only odd thing is the holes the string ferrules lock into are HUGE. But they will work.

.replaced a bridge on squier vintage modified jazz 77... not sure if it affected tone, sustain, etc because i also changed out pickups seems like a solid bridge easy to install
