Product Features

An expansion of the Paramount Series acoustic guitars, the Paramount Series PM-2 Standard All-Mahogany Parlor Acoustic Guitar combines simple styling with an organic finish to create a highly responsive instrument. Carefully crafted for superior tone, high performance and earthy visual appeal this premium instrument will satisfy all players searching for an inspiring guitar.

The open-pore mahogany top is extremely lively, with a lush, warm voice and enhanced dynamic range that responds to every nuance of your playing, no matter how hard or fast you strum and pick. The scalloped X-braces are carefully placed for detailed note definition, working in harmony with the top for the perfect amount of ringing sustain. The rich, all-solid mahogany back and sides work with the top for a well-balanced, earthy and organic tone. The fast-playing "C"-shaped mahogany neck and rosewood fingerboard are carefully crafted to accommodate any playing style while offering comfortable performance anywhere on the neck. The durable rosewood bridge and compensated bone saddle add a rich note to the warm voice of the guitar and create accurate intonation, as well as being stylish aesthetic touches, just like the ebony bridge pins.

The open-pore finish allows the guitar to resonate freely, making for an extremely lightweight instrument that breathes with dynamic tone.

Includes deluxe hardshell case and humidifier.

I have been wanting a smaller size solid mahogany guitar for quite some time. I already have a dread with a spruce top and mahogany laminate back and sides that I enjoy playing, but I wanted something different. However, a Martin 00-15M was way more than I wanted to spend on a guitar as I mostly play on the couch with the dog as my only audience member. I did my research with a price point in mind and I came upon the Fender PM2 Mahogany. I was a little skeptical about buying a Fender acoustic. Fender makes great electric guitars, but their acoustics have left me more than underwhelmed in the past. After many months looking I went and ordered the PM2 Mahogany...and I couldn't be more happier. First thing that you notice is how beautiful the gtr is. The open pore cut of wood is just gorgeous. The stain/lacquer is light and you tell the wood wants to breathe in the fresh air. The second thing you notice is how light the guitar actually is. You can play with this thing on your lap all day and not feel remotely fatigued. I immediately put new strings on and gave is a strum....and it was love. The tone is just what I was looking for. Woody, mellow and earthy are the adjectives that come to mind. Hit the harmonics on the 12th fret and it wants to ring for days. The 1 3/4 nut feels great and the neck is slim, but not skinny. The action is a little higher than I usually prefer, but I don't think that I'm going to have that changed. With the light strings on, bending notes is easy and I think the slight higher action lets the strings ring out. It does well with finger picking, but if you like to use a pick, have at it. It takes to a pick rather well.

Summary: It looks great, sounds great, plays easy and the price can't be beat for a SOLID mahogany guitar. If you're a little apprehensive about paying this much for a Fender acoustic, rest easy. They are doing great things with their Paramount Series.

.My guitar arrived several weeks ago from MF and I am very pleased with it. It is a great value for the money. Construction, materials and set up could not have been any better. My new little box proved to be a hit with the folks at our local jam. Even the "D" size Martin players were impressed with the little guy.
