I read some other reviews re:the assembly,I had no problem,but surely recommend a 7/16" socket/ratchet for tightening the nuts as opposed to the provided metal throwaway.If you suffer from a big butt,it might not be "cushy" enough for you,but personally I love this stool,it looks way cool, and it spins!(they don't advertise that)

.The diagram is good enough for assembly but I was perplexed as to why the span of the legs seemed to not fit the hoop. I lost considerable time before being sure I did have it right and that it was OK to forcibly bend the legs 3" wider and hold them in that position while I fastened them to the hoop. If you have low back issues, I strongly urge you to seek assistance with this. Once assembled, I was really pleased with the look. The subtle Fender logo, embossed but not painted, is classy IMO. When I sat down on it, big disappointment! The plush, thick looking seat is all plywood with a paltry wafer of padding on the top. I would not have bought this item had I known, but tearing it down and paying most of what I paid for it to ship it back was out of the question. I am surprisingly happy with it, anyway. Sitting for long periods of time IS really a bad mistake I am trying to eliminate from my life. This stool is very comfortable for short periods of time, then dutifully reminds you with its hard surface that it is time to get up and move around for a while..

.I bought this stool so I can record my vocals sitting down. One thing that no one has stated yet is that the stool doesn't make any unwanted sound. I've had stools and chairs that squeak or creak and of course end up on the recordings. This stool, however, is completely silent. My only complaint is that when I was putting it together I had to bend the legs slightly to fit properly with the screws. It was very easy to bend, but don't worry -- it's not cheap metal.
