Looked good out of the box other than "Fender Special Edition" decal was applied with wrinkle. Intonation was way off, required setup. Bridge has a rattle on G. Assume adjusting screw/retaining clip defective. Tone control was intermittent from faulty capacitor. Korean pots. Chinese pickups are cheap, hot & muddy IMO. Heavy for me in weight. I expected more of a Mexican made with no case for my money. I would have sent back but I missed the 45 day due to schedule & travel. I expect an additional 3 hundred for case, pickups & electronics to suit my needs. .This is nothing more than the Blacktop Jaguar HH being re-issued at a higher price. This price increase is rather rude though Fender has raised prices 20% for the first time in 7 years. I have the Jaguar with P-90's called the B-90 model.

.Loved the look of the HH Jaguar since I saw the Blacktop series so I took a chance on this and it's a pretty solid guitar. Had to adjust the truss rod and intonation out of the box but other than that it sounds good. Will probably replace the humbuckers eventually but for now I'm having a lot of fun with it.

.I really like this guitar. Its a great second guitar for me. Its more like something you would get when you already have other main guitars. It feels a little odd not having the tremolo like it was amputated or something is missing, but other than that its pretty cool. The pickups are not the greatest. I am going to replace them with Phat Cat pups. But it will end up being a very unique guitar. Kind of like if Gibson and Fender had a love child and Fender was the other woman. Yeah, like that lol.

.I had been searching for a shorter scale Fender guitar to experiment with-my hands are smaller than average. I have a Gibson LP that is a 24 scale, but those generally have a wider fretboard than Fenders (as does mine). It never felt right. I have an American made Strat which is a great neck for me, but the 25.5 scale that you find on Fender Strats and Tele didn't gel perfectly with my hand size. I was trying to figure out why my Squier Thinline Tele felt so good in my hands, only to realize through research that it was a 24.75 scale. This got me searching for the Fender neck that love but with the shorter scale of a Les Paul.
The Fenders that fit that description are mostly Mustangs and Jaguars: 24" scale and 42mm fretboard width at the nut. This particular Jaguar had other things I was looking for as well: An anchored tailpiece like a Les Paul (Jaguars typically have a floating tremolo tailpiece and a whammy bar, something I don't use). It didn't have the additional tone switches that Jaguars and the similar Jazzmasters have (I wouldn't use those either). I also liked the dual humbucker setup that this particular instrument has. I was looking for a very specific instrument, and this checked off a lot of the boxes.
I've been playing this for only a few months, and I have some mixed opinions but mostly positive. The tuners aren't very good quality. The pickups seem OK for my taste (i'm more about feel and less about tone). It needed a pro setup, but all new guitars will. It required a tiny shim to get the fretboard balanced exactly (not unusual for non-expert level instruments) but it is now perfect. The top of a bridge screw needed a slight file to take a sharp piece of, but again this was just a detail from a pro setup. No big deal.
Overall this guitar has great bones. The body has a nice weight to it, the nobs and switch feel pro, the neck is perfect for me. The color is unlike anything else I had and I now love it. It went on sale, I bought it, and I'm happy.
