this guitar is fabulous, the people who put down the pickups dont know how to play a guitar.yes they can be bright.
that is the object ,you morons. and they can also be smooth and mellow. this guitar does everything.
i play hard surf. smooth jazz.. old country instrumentals ..blues.., just about anything

i love the neck. it feels really great. i strung mine really light with pure nickel 9 to 41 gauge and it plays great and stays in tune and doesnt buzz,
i did notice that the bridge saddle screws would go down and cause some of the bridge pieces to drop..

no, i took a tube of White-out and dobbed a little on each screw. it dries real fast and holds them tight and it is easily removed if your mommy or your friends on the internet groups , who have never gigged ,tell you to take it off.
i got my guitar at a whopping discount because one of the basement dwellers sent it back for a blemish which you can not find with even a microscope,. and i got a hard case with it too...!!
i love this guitar. the neck feels so good. i love the radius and the frets, iset mine with really low action ..!
and i love the tremolo too..if you dont use the tremolo on this guitar, you are missing so much.!
its like the steering wheel on a car. it takes you places, if you dont use it , you might as well stick with a hardtail.

.Everything about this feels like a vintage JM. It's buttery neck pickup, the almost-too-trebly bridge pickup, the finish, the insane amounts of laquer, even the headstock has an aged look about it. Fender includes the best hard case they offer, with a lot of case candy. I sold my Gretsch for this guitar, and this feels like much more of a permanent investment. Fender makes the player feel like this is for life, and the feel of the guitar compliments that. It came out of the box set up very well, and almost in tune.
I'll be buying some new saddles down the road, as is common with all offset Fenders, but hey, at least it's historically accurate. The tuners are phenominal, and I don't think they'll need to be replaced for a long time. I'll be putting a P90 in the bridge, but that's a matter of personal taste, not lack of quality on Fender's part.
Buy one of these guitars. They're the best instruments I've seen in this price range, and feel like a lifelong instrument without using words like "modern", "blacktop", "aerodyne", or anything like that.
I could talk for as long as I want, but at the end of the day, it's a Jazzmaster. Nothing more, nothing less. I mean that in the absolute best way possible. No weird modern features, no "road worn finish", nothing unexpected.
If you like Jazzmasters and insane amounts of Laquer (the neck is still lightning fast), buy this. The build quality and included case will make this one win over the Classic Player every time.

.If this guitar was any closer to being the 64 Sunburst Jazzmaster I had back in 1964 it would be it! This instrument, with its high, bright sound, extra long string pull and perfect balance has taken me back quite a few years and inspired me as my first and second Jazzmasters did! Don't just sit there! Get it.

This is my first Jazzmaster, so bear that in mind. I was excited to see a non-sqier Jazzmaster of roughly vintage specs for under a grand, and preordered this one immediately. Got it in the mail a couple weeks ago and have been playing it daily. It came set up very well. It plays very comfortably. I don't find the varnished neck to be a bother at all, which was a concern of mine when I ordered it. I've had a ton of fun with this thing and am really looking forward to gigging with it! I do have two slight issues with it though. First, the bridge, or the saddles more specifically, are driving me mad. The screws on the saddles unscrew themselves through heavy playing and totally goof up your action to the point of having totally dead strings. So then you've got to break out the Allen wrench and jack the saddles back up to start playing again. I could see someone losing a saddle screw because of this and that would be a pain in the butt. I'll probably switch out the bridge at some point anyway, but still, I don't think it should come from the factory with this issue. Second minor issue: the bridge pickup is painfully bright. I figure this is probably 'vintage correct' though. All in all I'm definitely happy I bought it, but would hope Fender fixes this thing with the saddle screws.By the way, the case that comes with this is easily the nicest case I've ever seen from fender. Really great quality.

.I always wanted a Jazzmaster and this model is a great choice. Lacquer finish, American pickups, classic color, and vintage layout. Plus a Fender hard shell case not a gig bag like it says in the description. You cannot beat this deal. I wish I had a reason to buy the Jaguar.
