In my opinion, this is the best product to come out of Fender's Mexico factory ever. The guitar has a great feel with a special neck shape that really feels good in your hand. The color of the body coupled with the mint green pickguard really makes this one stand out. While it looks and feels great, it sounds even better. The pickups are from the custom shop ('52 at the neck, '58 at the bridge) and sound amazing. Very smooth neck pickup and classic tele twang from the bridge pickup. What sets this apart from other Tele's is the 4 position pickup switch that gives you two different middle position settings, one in parallel and one in series. Also, in the middle positions, you can engage the S-1 switch to give both out of phase sounds which add even more tonal variations to the guitar. Honestly, I am a strat guy through and through, but this Tele gives the Strat a run for it's money in terms of how many different tones you can achieve. All around great guitar that I will keep in my collection for a long time. Only thing I'm not crazy about is the gloss finish on the neck. .This is an excellent tele with a great feel and great classic tele tones. The rosewood board is a cool option to have on a classic design too. The only reason this doesn't get 5 stars is because of the HORRIBLE truss rod placement - under the pickguard... C'mon Fender, you know better. A truss rod needs to be adjusted for tension WITH the strings on. On this design, you have to take the strings off to adjust it and wildly guess and overcompensate when trying to get it right. The neck is solid and once properly adjusted, it will last you a while. All in all, this is a great guitar if you can live with the truss rod placement. If you don't do your own guitar setups, it won't matter to you anyway.

.I'm a stay-at-home guitarist who has been playing for more than 30 years. I'm a big fan of Ry Cooder, Keith Richards, Marc Ribot, Sly and The Family Stone, Robben Ford, Bill Frisell, John Lee Hooker, Danny Gatton, and Prince. This Telecaster has allowed me to get as close to the tone of my guitar heroes without having to take out a mortgage for a vintage or a custom guitar. I love the rosewood neck, the S-1 switching, and reissue pick-ups. I can't put it down!

.This is my first Tele. I honestly didn't really bond with it the first few days I played. But I realized I have been use to humbuckers all these years. After playing around with it a few more days I really started digging the tones I was getting. It was set up pretty decent from the factory. I did purchase new grooved and intonation 3 barrel brass saddles from Rutters and bought some 11 gauge flatwounds to stick on it. Haven't got those on yet. As I degrees. It really is a great guitar overall. If it was stolen I would definitely buy another one.

.First, let me give 5 stars to Custom Guitars Friend for their prompt service for my situation!
I am a proud owner of a Tele Baja 60's and I could not be more pleased with the quality and sound of this MIM version.
But my story led me thru a different direction initially, only to end with the Baja.
I had originally ordered (and waited weeks) a Tele Nashville Deluxe in daphne blue. I opened to reveal...a dent...that had to have occured by manufacture, not by shipping (was packed excellent)
My choice was: Ship it back for replacement...with back orders going into 30 days. Or, pick another model in stock.
I had been reviewing all MIM models with a possible consideration for a US model. Finances were and issue. The Baja was on my radar due to the quality US custom shop pickups, But I opted initially for the Nashville due to the many possible range tones with the 3 pickup options (Strat center) I played it for a day before sending it back for the exchange.
While I had the Nashville, I took note of the quality. It was nice, better than expected. Sound was great too with noiseless pickups. The bridge was great too,modern 6 saddle, and lock-tuners.
All that was dashed when I opted for the replacement as a Baja 60's, which was more of a true Tele classic setup, 3 brass barrel saddles, vintage tuners.
When I received the sonic blue Tele Baja I was simply blown away buy the much improved quality over the Nashville, especially the neck and fret work, polished rounded and smooth. Almost like an American Standard Strat, but not quite.
Plugged in and I am blown away again! These custom shop pickups are the real deal for vintage punch sound, unlike anything possible from the Nashville. And while the Nash can be switched, the bottom line is, out of 5 positions available, only 2 are Tele pickups, 3 are Strat.
The Baja switching is amazing with 4 positions, and phase switching for 6 total selections..all classic vibe!

.Very good Telecaster. Well made, plenty of attention to detail. I've been playing for 50+ years; this instrument is very good. Quality materials, great neck and solid electronics. I especially enjoy the neck. My only criticism is that the truss rod is only accessible under the pick guard, i.e. neck must be removed for adjustment. Even so, an excellent value.

.My Faded Sonic Blue Baja Tele arrived from MF quickly quickly and in great shape, packed in factory sealed box and an outer box.
The guitar's fit and finish was very good EXCEPT for the Kluson style tuners. They were installed somewhat sloppy. They were a bit misaligned as viewed from back of headstock. I was able to loosen mounting screws and realign them somewhat, an easy fix.
The pickups sound great and the factory setup was pretty good.
I like neck profile and feel. The 9.5" radius is more comfortable to play than 7.25" vintage.
I actually could do without the S-1 switching but may use occasionally.
My Baja Tele weighs in at 8 lbs. even. I would have liked it a tad lighter but 8 lbs is not so bad.
I have a 2007 MIM Fender Robert Cray Strat (7 lbs.) that is absolutely perfect Custom Shop quality fit and finish. This MIM Baja Tele is not. It's very good though.
The Faded Sonic Blue color, Mint Green pickguard, and dark Rosewood fretboard makes for a cool look.
The gig bag that comes with it is just OK. I bought an inexpensive Chroma Cast hard case for it that offers more protection.
I like this very cool guitar quite a bit and would give it 5 stars if it wasn't for the tuners being misaligned.
It's a very nice Tele.
