This American Elite HSS model combines a powerful Shawbucker open-coil humbucking bridge pickup with the exclusive New 4th generation Noiseless pickups, which represent a quantum leap in pickup design. The new Noiseless pickups’ hum-free vintage- style sound and the Shawbucker’s snarling midrange creates pristine cleans and gigantic overdriven tones for multidimensional classic Stratocaster sound turned up to 11. Push-push switching enables the “passing lane”, which instantly rerouts to your bridge pickup signal, bypassing the tone circuit, kicking your tone into overdrive with enhanced overtones and high output.
Designed for fast playing and effortless position changes, the compound profile neck with a 9.5”-14” compound radius fingerboard is ideal for all playing styles. A modern “C”-shape at the nut, the profile morphs along the length of the neck to a modern “D”- shaped profile at the updated neck heel, providing plenty of comfortable support for fret hand antics. Locking, all short-post tuning machines provide increased break angle at the bone nut for buzz-free performance. The smooth two-point modern tremolo adds emotive touches to your performance without sacrificing your tuning. This new Fender is my Strat for life. The variety of tones through the S1, 5-way and passing lanes switches ensures you can get whatever sound you need without changing guitars, and the compound radius fretboard is fast and comfortable. The Shawbucker is a terrific pickup, warm and powerful and matched well with the new noiseless single coils. Build and finish are perfect. To top it off, I picked this up as an open box at a substantial discount, and can't find a flaw. Thanks Custom Guitars Friend for imagining there was a reason to mark this one down. I have played for over 40 years and have owned a lot of guitars. .I've been fortunate to have owned a LOT of Strats over the last 40+ years. From the "Strat Plus" of the nineties to the Deluxe Series in the 2000,s. American, Mexican, Japanese. Old, new. Stock and modified. NO Strat I've owned compares to this one. It's a pleasure to play and the noiseless/Shaw pickup combo is truly incredible. Compound radius neck, roller nut, locking tuners..... the most useful electronics setup I've ever played. I can't say enough good things about this amazing Strat. Great setup right out of the box and a great deal from MF as usual. The only bad thing about it is that it has taken the fun out of looking at strats in stores.... I feel like I already have the "Holy Grail" of Strats. :)

.This is the finest guitar I have ever played in terms of build quality. I heard about others getting some with frets that are rough around the edges, but not this one. Mine was an open box deal as well, and marked as condition 2 "blemished". It wasn't damaged at all! I was just missing the owners manual! If I had a list of the best purchases I have ever made, this would be in the top three.

.I can get the bluesy strat sounds and can then switch over to the humbucker for heavier rock. S-1 switch is a plus to go between series and parallel for different tones - very versatile .
