This is a good year for Fender Mexico. Everyone down there has a ton of experience now and it shows. The action, fit and feel of this bass is very natural. The finish will floor you. Put some of your favorite pickups in it and go make some money!!!

.I just purchased this Mexican P-Bass and can't believe how nice it is. Right out of the box, and I would never think I'd be saying 'PERFECT'. The setup is right on. The Pot's and Cap. have great range. The finish is high gloss Black, very nice. Four months ago I purchased a 2012 American Standard P-Bass. It needed to be setup and I had to swap out the Pot's and Cap.. I paid less then half for this Mexican bass compared to my American made bass. It play's great, had a gig this weekend and it's so warm sounding. It sounds like I've had it for years. It's much lighter then the American also, which is good for your back. I would highly recommend this bass regardless of your playing level. You can't lose.

. In my opinion, the Fender Standard Series Precision Bass plays, sounds, and looks just as good as the over- priced American Series Fenders. There are a few upgraded features on the US versions like a thicker steel bridge, gloss finish, and more color options. But not enough of a difference over all to justify the 2X the price. My Standard P Bass sounds excellent through my 600 Watt Peavey Headliner Stack. I plan on keeping the Bass in my collection. I would recommend this Bass to players of all levels.

.I traded a 5 string DeArmond Pilot V that was simply too big for me for my blue MIM 4 string P-Bass and never looked back. Since I've had it I've put on graphite saddles, shielded wiring and bone nut. It came with SD Bassline pickups. New strings and pro setup and this baby it totally dialed in! I've gigged with it lots of times and it's been solid, except for once when the jack got loose and started banging around inside. Easy fix. Anyway, it's easy to play, sounds great and looks great on stage. It is unbeatable for the money and fairly cheap to upgrade. Why pay 2 or 3 times as much? I think I heard that Sting played a MIM P-Bass for a while, prolly when he was broke! It didn't seem to hold him back. Really, you can't go wrong with one of these.
You know what you're getting when you buy a P-Bass.
It's good and reliable.
There is no better value on the market.

.I purchased a black Fender standard precision with a rosewood fret board about a year ago and it is freaking AMAZING!!!!! It has a great tone, style and over-all feel to it!!!! I have used this for both my metal band and my youth worship band and it is amazing!!!! The only complaints I have about it are the price and that it does get a bit heavy after a while. However, it is lighter than most basses that I've tried, and you definitely get your moneys worth. The bass players at my church also have these and we all have nothing but good things to say about it!!! I HIGHLY reccomend this to anyone looking for a good bass.

.This is the greatest bass I have ever owned, and I judge all others by it. Put a little love into it, this baby will never let you down:)
I got this when I first started playing bass, and this has been my go-to for years. I ended up replacing the pickups and the bridge, and after having a little work done on it(neck adjusting from constant string changing) this baby has been my favorite bass. I use this for my own rock/metal playing, jazz for my school, and worship for my church.
After I had a luthier work on it, sounded beautiful.
Had this bass since day 1, never gonna trade or sell it.

.I WAS VERY SURPRISED THAT THIS P BASS WAS SO NICE OUT OF THE BOX. IT HAS MUCH BETTER SOUND THAN BY MY 1968 GIBSON EB3

.Looked at several basses before deciding on the Brown Sunburst, Alder body, 34" scale, Rosewood fret board, 20 medium jumbo fret, 9.5" radius, Mexican Fender Standard Precision Bass. Mine has "Precision Bass 1951-2011 60 years" stamped into the neck plate. After playing the bass as received changed to: Flat wound strings (if nothing else, change out the factory strings with new flat or round wounds), Basslines Quarter Pounder SPB 3 P bass pickup, 60's P bass pick guard with 4 additional holes for tug and pickup cover, Fender thumb rest used as tug, Fender pickup and bridge covers, Ernie Ball strap locks along with Fender "Vintage" leather guitar strap. Using rubber cement glued 1/4" thick packing foam cut to size into the bridge cover for muting. Play through a Boss GT 10B or Korg Pandora into headphones or Tech 21 Power Engine 60.

.Off the rack this guitar simply rocks. Action was great. Easy to play. Great tones. Satin finish neck. Frets were finished very well. Neck was dead straight.
Fender Standard Precision Bass Guitar Black Rosewood Fretboard
.This MIM P Bass has decent pickups and sounds great. It looks well except the finish of fret board. It requires works to make into a good instrument to play. The edges of the 20 frets on the top and bottom required smooth filing. Mine was pretty rough and scratched my fingers during fret transition. The brown finish on the fret board was uneven with white blemishes.

The bottom line: It sounds sound, but need loving tender care before it is playable. I recommend this instrument only to those who enjoy tinkering around with their guitars, and does not mind some rough around the edges. If you want a hassle free instrument and play straight out of the box, then this is not for you.
