Look, I have 5 great amps from Ampeg & Hartke. I needed something small and portable for some smaller gigs on the Westside. Took a chance and ordered this puppy unseen. WOW, great power and punch. Goes from warm bluesy to hot slap all by how I attack the strings. Looks like we will be using this one to record our new CD. Great amp for a great price.

I have used a Sunn Concert Bass (2 - 15s) for 25 years - I also have an all tube Mesa Prodigy Four:88 with 2 - 4x10 cabinets - perhaps the pinnacle of bass sound. These cabinets require much more back than I now possess to move - excellent though they are. I then bought the now discontinued Fender Rumble 150 (single 15) to haul around, but it also is too physically heavy. Then I took a chance on the new Rumble 500 Combo (2-10s) -- Wow, Wow, Wow! What a beast! Tight, deep and powerful - and you can get a second 2x10 - or even a 4x10 cabinet and blow the house down! And the added beauty is that I can carry this thing around - only 36 lbs. When you are 66 years - this makes big a difference - I absolutely love it!

.Debated at length about purchasing this unit. Heard a lot of "stories" of bad experiences with this combo. Heard it had been redesigned....started seeing lots of very positive reviews. Tried it out, side-by-side versus some of its competitors, and it performed very well. Decided to take the plunge. Glad I did! Exceptional combo....so far. Great amp for all the pros listed above. The "cons" are just my nit-picking! I play a variety of music genres, mainly in large club environments. The direct out seems to meet the approval of sound techs I work with, and they are complimentary of the sound and tone of this combo. My bandmates are complimentary as well. Is more than sufficient to cut through the mix of a five-piece band. It easily handles the full range of my five-string basses....all active....and is loud as it needs to be without any flab or rattling the box. Don't know how long this will perform at this level, but for now, I am very pleased. Somebody at Fender has done their due diligence on this combo!

.Works great with my upright bass. It is clearly heard through my hard driving rockabilly band. It also reproduces my uprights natural sound. My Rickenbaker also sounds killer through it.

.Greatest product ever made. Not just bass amps or musical equipment. I mean this is the greatest product ever invented.

I accidentally turned master volume up to 5 and I blew out all the windows in my building. I live in a 28-story highrise apartment building.

My neighbors loooooooooove me with my new Rumble bass amp. LOL - not.

Get this amp now. You can gig a stadium with it not mic'd up if you're so inclined.

Oh -- tone is perfect too. Perfect amp.

.This Combo is super light and Powerful. I can easily dial in any sound I need and it's very simple to use. I am using a Fender Jazz American Deluxe bass with this amp most of the time and it thumps hard. I also use an Eden Wt 800 with a 4X10 and even though it's hard to believe, I like this set-up just as much. I purchased the 1X15 to pair this up and it sounds great! Great clear lows with tons of power and volume. Entry level price with professional quality. If you are thinking about buying this combo, you won't be disappointed. Custom Guitars friend return policy is unbeatable along with their price.

.Great tone, lightweight, and affordable. What more could you ask for?! How about a 5 year manufacturers warranty? You get that too! Fender covered all the bases w/ this one.

.I have been lugging around an Ampeg SVT 4 Pro and the Ampeg 6 x 10 cabinet for years now.
Hands down the absolute best world class bass tone on the planet. ( unless you want to change tubes at One hundred plus every six months like I would have to ). I play 100 + shows a year. Mostly 250 to 500 seats .
I am now 60 years old, and was looking for a smaller rig that didn't compromise my sound.
I was , and still am , very unlucky in my search.
The new Fender rumble 500 watt was interesting at first. It seemed to come somewhat close to getting that Ampeg sound until I turned it up. Yes, there should be enough volume for small to medium gigs, but thats not the only concern here is it ? I noticed as the volume increased, the tone decreased.
The louder you play , the less tone you will have . This seems to be a common trait with most of these small solid state combo's . They have a "sweet spot" you need to stay within , or you will not have control over your tone if you exceed. I was MOST impressed with the TC Electronics Mini heads with a 4x10 cab underneath. But then I am back to hauling two pieces of gears, two cases, bla bla bla.
Kind of defeats the " smaller combo" mentality.
I do think for a casual small club player looking for a small
portable combo rig, you should look at the Fender Rumble 500.
However , if you want the best tone with unlimited volume, you will be wanting an Ampeg, Dave Eden World Tour, or similar high wattage name brand rig.
It's a very good value for the money.....but you do get what you pay for !

.Yes, I consider myself a novice still even all these years down the road. I play mostly parties, and at church. I am no paid professional, and I just don't consider myself good enough to call myself experienced either...

Having said that, there isn't enough good that I can say about this amp. The tone shaping controls on this thing are beyond amazing. Your basic Bass, Mid low, Mid High, and High knobs do exactly what you expect them to do, the Vintage, Bright, Overdrive etc... all deliver awesome tones all on their own.

I always played through Crate and Ampeg 15" combos and always struggled to find "my sound". It took me less than 5 minutes fiddling around with this to find it. And it has given me the ability to kick my playing up to the next level sound wise, it actually sounds like I know what I am doing.

The expansion port and optional footswitch bring great flexibility to this combo...

The overall build quality is astonishingly good, and the weight, well I admit I have car wreck caused back problems and the light weight of this thing makes loading in / out less of a punishment than it used to be.

Talk to anyone that owns one of these, and I am sure you'll hear them gush about this amp. It is beyond awesome!

.I have the Fender Rumble 500 paired with the Fender Rumble 115 as an extension cabinet. So the config is 500 watts, two 10's, one 15 and two compression tweeters.

This is the best rig I have owned - up to and including my SVT with the 8/10 cab. Between the exceptional tone and portability, hands down, a versatile and fun rig. Easy to find a great tone and easy to change when necessary. I am playing a Fender P-Bass through it with flat wounds and the responsiveness is incomparable. I am struggling to find something to improve upon, and I just can't. Thank you Fender for thinking of us bassists once again.
