I wanted an inexpensive guitar to leave at a friends house that I visit often and I played all the "under one hundred and fifty" guitars in the store (including used) - this was by far the best. It stood out because is was loud, very bright in the low range (not dull and muddy like he others). It played well over the entire neck (a little buzz above the twelfth fret with hard strumming). I like the tone.

Comparing it to my Martin, it is much brighter. It is not the "sometimes over-the-top" brightness of an aluminum strung guitar, but it was closer to that than a Martin with phosphor bronze strings.
