This RG450DX model has a basswood body and a Wizard III neck shape that offers maximum comfort and speed. Its fingerboard is rosewood with 24 jumbo frets for bigger note bends and it also comes with triple Ibanez INF pickups that are wired to a 5-way switch for a variety of coil combinations and sounds. An Edge-Zero tremolo bridge and Cosmo black hardware complete the list of hard-rockin' appointments.

Wizard III maple neck
Ibanez's thin, flat, and fast, yet strong and sturdy, Wizard neck offers unlimited playability for demanding players, and features a two-octave 24-fret fretboard for wide tonal range.

Quantum pickups

Let's start by getting the con's out of the way first, since I can't really think of to many. The only real complaint that I have is the stock pickups. They're o.k. but once I threw in a set of Dimarzio D Activators, this guitar didn't just come alive, it became a monster. I love this axe. The look is amazing, the neck is worth every penny alone. I stick to Ibanez guitars for their wizard necks, you can't beat them. I highly recommend this guitar for anyone, whether it's your first axe or if you perform live or record, just invest in ordering some great pups to go with it and you'll have an axe you'll never want to put down. I've owned Japanese made Ibanez RG's (including the PGM301), Jacksons, etc. and this one is my second favorite I've ever owned. My absolute favorite was an original Japanese RG I bought like 15 years ago, it had a reverse headstock and it is by far the most solid, but this one is quickly becoming my favorite.

.This is a really great guitar for the price. I got this a few years ago and it is still one of my main guitars. The neck has got a really great, fast feel to it. The only thing is that the pickups could be better, but for the price they are decent. Check out this guitar in action: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCb418tm1HfcGbV_06xTwXMQ

.First let me say that I did NOT buy this from Custom Guitars Friend.
My 2016 RG450DXB did arrive new in the box. Upon opening it, I noticed that 4 of the the pick guard screws were screwed in at an angle and I mean a hard 45 degree angle. They were no where near being flush with the pick guard. The joy of owning a new guitar turned to anger and frustration. There is no way to fix this w/o filling and re-drilling holes. Then I noticed the cavity under the trem. There were several rough spots in the corners that were not smoothed out and just painted over. It looks horrible. I am extremely disappointed in Ibanez. There is no way this should get past quality control. I have tried to contact Ibanez directly via email, facebook and twitter. After 2 weeks I have heard nothing back from them. It has really turned me off to Ibanez. Its not worth returning it due to shipping and restocking fees. For what its worth it does play and sound great but the joy of owning it is lost.

.You really can't beat what you get for the money from Ibanez. I had one years ago and frankly missed it. When this guitar became available I couldn't resist. The pickups are pretty hot but not too loud with nice tone. A guitar like this is never going to sound as warm as a LP or Tele but it sound's great. And good luck getting such nice action on either of those two other guitars...

.good very good

.Knocked off a star from the 4 it should have gotten because I had to return it. There was a problem with the magnetic poles in the pick ups. One pole stuck out so far that when I lowered the action it would dampen the string. I chose a different guitar upon return, but this was nothing to do with Custom Guitar's Friend simply a factory defect. I would like to say they could probably open and inspect guitars they sell, maybe even set them up in a basic kind of way.

.First off I rarely write reviews but I wanted to express my thoughts on this guitar in the hopes it helps someone else. I've been looking at this guitar for about 6 months now on Custom Guitars Friend. I don't have a guitar shop very close so hearing this isn't an option, but I finally pulled the trigger and ordered it. I love the feel of the guitar. Holding it, the look of it and the feel of the neck is awesome. I have an Epiphone SG special and the neck on this feels awesome. Smooth and comfortable for someone with small hands (and fat fingers). I was a bit displeased with the finish of the paint on the edge of the fretboard but it's a 400 guitar not a 4000 even though for me 400 is a bunch. I had issues with the bridge and getting the guitar to stay in tune but thats not why I returned it. And in fact I consider my issues with staying in tune to my lack of experience with a tremolo bridge. Now the bridge did feel smooth and stable. The reason I returned it was because of the pickups. They sounded so horrible. I wish I could describe in great detail how bad they where but actually the best sound I got out of the guitar was out of the single coil in the middle. I love the hambuckers in my SG and was hoping these where similar but with more growl or crunch. They are the opposite. Now yes I could've installed new pickups but it's a brand new guitar and my 180 SG still has stock pickups in it and it sounds so much better. My advise is listen to it. Find one somewhere and play it before you buy it. Custom Guitars Friend is very nice to deal with. And it's a nice guitar, but the pickups at least for me don't sound like 400 pickups.

Just as a reference I played this through the only amp I have and thats a Marshall MG10CF
