The WH10V2 Classic Reissue Wah features the same multiple-feedback op-amp circuit as the original, a feature rarely found in today's wah pedals. I'm just going to say this first: This is a great wah if you have either the time/money to mod it.I don't normally write reviews, but I think this pedal deserves one with all of its positive and negative qualities.
If you're a Frusciante fan like I am then this is the wah pedal to get. Great sound and leaves a smaller footprint than other wahs.
Here's where the good things stop though. When engaged, the wah is great, but when you're not using it, this thing sucks to much tone. Just imagine rolling your tone knob on your guitar all the way back and then some. It's that bad. Sometimes it fluctuates and I'll get seconds where it sounds somewhat normal, but it doesn't stay consistant. The second, most noticeable problem I experienced was the on/off switch. I had read reviews before buying seeing people mention how it was difficult if not impossible to turn this thing off/on. "It couldn't be that bad" I thought, but I was wrong. I was just short of jumping with my full weight onto this pedal to get it to turn off. This is totally unacceptable for a pedal that costs this much. To fix it, I tried taping a small piece of folded paper to the rubber pad that engages the switch. It fixed the problem, but now it's way too easy to turn on/off. The switch itself doesn't have any resistance or a click so it's very easy to turn off by accident when using the pedal. I think I just have to experiment with different thicknesses of paper in order to get it just right. Another thing you'll want to consider before buying is the boost in volume it gives you. This may or may not be a good thing, but it makes it very difficult to get a clean wah tone out of it.
The verdict: If you can put this thing in a true bypass loop and are willing to experiment to find the perfect way to turn it on/off, then go for it. The tone makes the problems worth it. Wilson Mods does a great mod for this pedal as well (true bypasss and volume knob) so if you have the cash I would say it's a no-brainer.

.I played a crybaby origional wah for nearly 2 years, and i just couldnt get the wah sound i wanted. The WH10 re-issue is the cure for boring wah sound. The depth nob allows from subtle wah tones to over the top wah mayhem. I recomend keeping the nob at about 12 o'clock, one can hear the wah without it dominating your tone. The switch problems mentioned in other reviews are an issue but its an easy fix, just take off one of the foam pads. The bass/guitar switch is nice. Running a guitar through it in guitar mode gives you some interesting sounds. The dry out is also an great feature. I run it into a boss pedal tuner. Overall this is an awesome pedal. The price is right for the features and tone.

.I used Crybabies for a number of years but I got to a point where I wanted that growly original WH-10 Frusciante wah tone, as I am a big RHCP/Frusciante fan. This pedal will give you exactly that. In comparison to a Crybaby, this wah has more growl and bite and is more versatile, as it has a depth knob and guitar/bass switch. The metal casing seems very sturdy. The switch is tough to turn on/off, as mentioned in other reviews, but these reviews, in my opinion, made it seem worse than it is. I've had the pedal for about 1-2 months now and in a few weeks I was used to the switch. If you love the tone like I did, you will persevere through this minor problem. Overall, if you're looking for more growl than a Crybaby and/or the Frusciante/RHCP wah tone, this pedal is as close as you'll get to a original WH-10 without paying an arm and a leg.

.i bought this pedal for the first time in 2012 and i had to send it back because when id use it, it would make a crackling noise when i moved the pedal back and forth. i sent it back and they sent me another brand new on with the same issue. this pedal needs a lot of work. ibanez' pedal is not what it was. not worth a penny of the money i spent.

.Well as you all know the old issues with this pedal if you reasearch it. Much has improved so it will last a long time ie... metal casing. As stated in the other post the switch was an issue out of the box. The problem is a dilemma. If the pad on the toe was not so firm you could stomp to engage the on/off switch. I called customer service and they said the double stack pad was prob a result of regular wah'ing shutting off the wah during regular use. There's a small square rubber pad behind the toe pad which hits the switch, I just put a small green-felt round stickey pad on that to bring it a touch taller and the on/off works much better now. So you'll have to fine tune the setup on this one's switch, but will be ok after you do. If you are playing at low room volumes you can hear the switch partially engaing on the down toe, which can be a touch distracting and could be a problem if operated near a directional mic if recording at low volumes. The pitch is much taller than a crybaby and does not ride out as flat, maybe for seated players? Takes some getting used to. Value is rated best because of what the old ones were going for on the used market. I have guitars and basses and has a switch for both which is another reason I wanted to try this wah, the value is there for this versatiliy.

.This wah pedal is excellent. I've read a lot of complaints about the toe switch being stiff but I haven't had much of a problem with it. It has never failed me and I've gigged it hard. Also I disagree with the people that complain that it sucks tone. It's a buffered bypass so I put a true bypass pedal after and another buffered and my tone remains unchanged. It's all about where you put it in your chain. Overall, a good unique wah that I personally haven't experienced any problems with.

.I ordered this pedal last year for the first time. The pot was scratchy and was crackling all the time, so I decided to replace it. Next wah comes in and everything is fine, it works great. Two weeks later, the same problem with the pot, it was crackling all the time. So, I've pretty much given up with this lack of quality of Ibanez. It is a pedal that was designed over twenty years ago and the ones that are still here today worked just fine, why couldn't Ibanez just replicate that old one and put it in a metal casing? That is a great fail from the company, and surely a dealbreaker.As for the pedal when it was working, it had a great sweet sound, unlike any other wah pedal. It's great that you can make your adjustments on the fly to make your sweep subtle or almost distorted. The pedal really sucks your tone, so it would have been better that Ibanez had fitted the pedal with a True-bypass switch which could be turned on easier! The switch that this pedal has is extremely unreliable, as you may turn the pedal on easily, or it may take you like a minute to get the thing working.Overall, I was disappointed by the pedal, since Ibanez didn't put much effort into recreating the old pedal that made history among Frusciante fans. The quality of the pedal and its components are just plain awful, and until Ibanez doesn't fix the durability of this pedal, I don't recommend you to buy it even if you are a die-hard Frusciante fan that can't wait to get one. I think that in the long run, hunting down an original pedal in Ebay would prove to be cheaper that having to constantly fix and complain about this awful pedal that Ibanez is making.

.I bought this pedal yesterday, and I've played with it for about 3 hours straight.I've wanted this pedal for a few years now, and was happy when Ibanez reissued it, so I finally got it. I own a Dunlop 535Q Wah which has been great, but I wanted something different.As soon as I plugged the pedal in (at the store) it had switch issues, it didn?t even turn on when you pushed the pedal down. The store only had one in stock so I thought I'd take it home and put a piece of tape of it tape or foam on the bottom of the expression pedal to push the switch in easier.After I finally got it to work, I was happy!!...Only to be disappointed as soon as I put it into my pedal board I noticed I lost a lot of treble frequencies in my guitar tone when the pedal was in bypass.I put the pedal through a bypass pedal, and my findings were right, the pedal sucks so much tone. I couldn?t believe how bad it was.I then did an experiment I compared the Dunlop 535Q to the WH10V2, using a bypass stripe to bypass both pedals.I found that the 535Q has a wider frequency range, I was actually able to copy the WH10V2 wah sound with the 535Q but the 535Q had a wider and brighter sound (actually better sound).I?m hoping the WH10V2 pedal I purchased was a bad one so I?ll return it, and ask them to order another one.I never owned the original, but I hope it didn?t suck as much tone as this one has.I own about 12 vintage and reissue Ibanez 9-series pedals, and I love them, all have great sound, but this one was the worst new pedal I?ve owned.I'll probably post a youtube video of a comparison of the two pedals.Try before you buy!!!Cheers-Precious

.This is a great wah pedal to get if you don't want your wah sound to sound like a crybaby. Very unique and quite the small footprint.To fix the problem of turning it on and turning it off (many people complain that its impossible to do either, especially off...) I simply removed one of the two long rectangular black bumpers right under where your toes would be. Only remove one, there are two, one on top of the other. You may find that it turns off way to easily when you play it after removing the bumper, but better easily than almost impossible. When it comes down to it, this is a pretty awesome, pedalboard friendly wah pedal that shouldn't disappoint.

.The pedal does what it is supposed to do. However activating it and deactivating it require applying a lot of pressure to the pedal. I've tried fixing this by taping card stock to the button but then find myself accidentally turning it off while in use.
