I bought this a few weeks ago and wanted to write a short review since there were none that I could find online before buying this. I'm glad I did buy it because it is a very good guitar for the low price. It seems to be more like a half size acoustic but I actually like it since I have small hands. It is a well put together guitar, has a good feel to it and sounds very good for a smaller guitar. If you're looking for something to play in a bigger room this wouldn't be the guitar to buy but if you want something fun to play and practice on, I highly recommend this. It actually looks good too! The guitar would also be a great kids guitar as it is actually about the same size as one of the small beginner guitars in toy stores. It's an Ibanez so it's definitely not a toy. I hope this helps someone if they are looking to buy one.

.Bought this for my son who is just learning guitar. The neck is thinner and narrower making it easy to play. Just the right size for a 9-12 year old. The wood and finish is beautiful, everyone raves about it. And it sounds good and stays in tune. Staying in tune is usually a problem for a low priced guitar.

Love it!

.OK, so this was my 2nd Ibanez Performer series guitar purchase...and another Level 1 Open Box purchase as well. I killed two birds with one stone with this one. I was looking for a mahogany top acoustic AND a 3/4 size acoustic...found both in this model. Again, as I stated in my other Ibanez PF dreadnought review, this fit my "live instrument cost criteria"...it can't cost so much that it can't easily be replaced, LOL. Onto some details...

So, just to get it out of the way...I did NOT buy this expecting it to sound like a full-sized dreadnought. It's tone is really nice, actually exceeded what I was expecting. The mahogany top gives it a warm tone and the smaller body gives it a tight rhythmic edge. It played great out of the box, though I did some tweaking to personalize it...as I always do. New strings, lowered the action a hair, slight neck adjustment, lemon oiled the fretboard...all to bring it to my preferences. It's a solidly built, roadworthy 3/4 size acoustic guitar. It has no problem staying it tune (and I tend to strum aggressively at times and drop D tune quite a bit throughout shows) and isn't affected by weather/ humidity changes very much. It's smaller size and weight make it a perfect guitar for travel. You can take it with you easily when traveling by train, bus, foot (LOL), etc. The neck and fretboard have a nice, smooth feel, easy fretting of chords, little to no fret buzz, etc. Works well w/ a basic Kyser capo. I use Martin SP Phosphor Bronze custom lights (11-52). I bought the Gator 3/4 size hardshell case for it...fits great. I'm not usually a fan of matte finishes, but this guitar looks awesome with their Open Pore finish.

Wanting to use it for live performance, I installed a Fishman AG series saddle pickup and a basic active preamp (9v powered, volume knob, 4 band EQ w/ bass, mid, high, presence). See pics.

Besides live performances, it has recorded really nicely using a single USB studio condenser mic.

All and all a nice guitar.

Bought this for my 7 year old daughter who is starting out. She had an old hand-me--down parlor that was hard to play and didn't stay tuned. This thing plays wonderfully! Now I need to train her to press lighter on the strings. The change in her ability was instant, don't let anyone tell you the gear doesn't matter. For the price it can't be beat. The neck is a bit longer than the parlor guitar she was playing, but not too long. It's looks to be the same proportion for her as me playing my standard guitar.

.This guitar was for my son who is 9 and starting guitar lessons. Good quality overall for the price. Looks good and plays well. The only complaint I have is that the strings sit very high off of the nut. I needed to file the grooves a bit so the action was a bit lower. It was hard for my son to play some basic chords because he really had to push hard on the first couple of frets to get the strings down. Easy fix though and happy with the guitar.
