I bought this guitar as a gift. The specs listed here are for the Ibanez AEG20e, (which I thought I was getting) and are wrong on some points. The AEG20II does not have the AEQ-SST preamp with shape shifter, but has an AEQ-SP1 preamp. It does not have an XLR output. There are also cosmetic differences (ex: the neck back is a gloss finish on the AEG20e, but satin on the AEG20II). I have not been able to find any reviews or specs on the web yet for this updated version of the AEG20e. I bought the vintage violin which is beautiful to behold. The person who received it is happy with it so far. I would sure have appreciated finding some reviews for the AEG20II, and if others feel it is truly an upgrade from the AEG20e.

.The electronics package advertised in Custom Guitars Friend is not the electronics package the guitar actually has in it. I sent this one back three times and never did get the right one.

.When I picked this up in the store and started playing it, iI immediately loved the neck! Easy to play and well balanced. Sounds great alone but even better plugged into a Fishman Amp. Great Sound! I use this on my weekend acoustic gigs and no problems at all. For the Money think it's a great deal! On board electronic (fishman) works fine. I would like to see more choice of colors or tops. Otherwise, this is a solid guitar and fun to play.

.The quality is superb, ease of play excellent, easy on the fingers, beautiful appearance, have been using this guitar more than my Tele, the electric acoustic quality is amazing....I play through a TC electronic HOF reverb with a MXR Carbon Copy Delay then into an old Peavy amp........I have tried so many guitars to find the right one and this is it......the thinness brings playing comfort......

great guitar for on stage, neck has an electric guitar feel so the transition is fluid. Plugged in has a very good acoustic sound, tuner should have better accuracy as it is off a few cents either way.

.I have many guitars and have been playing music for many years, I bought this guitar for several reasons and it does them all very well, I Have a studio and needed a guitar with updated electronics, this guitar sounds great directly plugged in to recording unit ( computer ), It is lightweight, thinner than most, the neck is wide enough for my style of playing, stays in tune great, electronics are pretty good, one poster dissed the electronics,This one is worth every penny. I have had it for one year, no complaints. I have hung up my 30 year old Washburn and I use this one when I need to use a hollow body, It does not sound as good as the more expensive Taylors, or when it in not plugged in to electronics, but I still give it 5 stars, It is a GOOD Guitar

.Chose this as a replacement for a Dean Exhibition that had a wonky tuner. I'm not a professional musician, and I'm mostly an electric guitar hobbyist, but I wanted a thinner body acoustic-electric guitar to noodle around with and this fits the bill nicely. I really like this guitar at this price point. It feels good and is fairly easy to play, though the action is a little higher than I'm used to playing. The guitar is beautiful to look at with the color being a little darker red than it appears on the photos on the website. This guitar came with an extra bridge saddle, a bridge pin, an instruction manual, and a truss rod allen wrench in a protective cover, which is a lot more than the Dean Exhibition came with. The electronics on this guitar work a lot better than the Dean, also. Over all, I'm quite satisfied with it. Oh, and by the way, this guitar doesn't have an XLR out as others have pointed out. I don't need it.
