I have had the Transparent Red version for 2 years and the only complaints I have are the sharp fret ends and frets above the 12th that needed leveling. I did this myself and now the guitar is almost perfect. It is well made and very comfortable to play with the thin contour neck. Be aware that because of the thin neck and the fact that the neck is attached to the body way up at the 17th fret because it is a double cut-away, it is very easy to change the pitch of this guitar with very little pressure on the neck with your left hand. I solved this problem by using heavier gauge strings (.010) which seem to increase the neck tension enough to prevent the "whammy bar" effect. I used .009's for a long time and wondered why the guitar would change pitch with certain chords - it was because my hand pressure increased with certain chords thereby causing the neck to bend - with .010's this does not happen. This is more of a country/jazz guitar anyway, so eliminating .009's is not a problem for me. Overall I love the guitar and it has a very nice sound and very comfortable neck profile. The satin finish neck makes it very easy to play.

.I came into a pawn shop and they had one of these. I only played unplugged and it felt great, so I bought it (I teach guitar so I figured if I didn't like it, it would make a good starter electric for somebody). Like a lot of people here have said, sharp fret edges seem to be common, but if you know how to fix that it's not hard.

I really like playing it, the neck is so easy to play in all registers. Some semi-hollows can be a little limiting in the upper register, not this guitar, it is actually easier to play up there than my Gibson Les Paul.

I do, and have owned some higher end guitars. Sometimes it's true that you get what you pay for, then there are exceptions, like this guitar.

You can see where the cut backs are; the minimal finish (that's ok, because that can sound better), electronics (the pickups aren't outstanding but for a guitar in this price range they sound really good), tuners/hardware (again not bad, but you can always drop in better parts for pretty low cost). I'm planning on upgrading the pickups, tuners, and bridge, then this should be a really sweet cheap guitar. Don't just assume that because a guitar cost less that it's not a good instrument. Pick up a well set up guitar without looking at the price tag or what is on the headstock, it might surprise you.

.I'VE OWNED MANY TOP END GUITARS THAT PLAYED LOTS WORSE THEN THIS GEM (RED AS53) DOES, NO UNEVEN FRETS, FINISHED PROFESSIONALLY PERFECT. DECENT WOODS, PICKUPS AND TUNERS. THE BEST AND GREATEST FEELING (AND PLAYING) 12" RADIUS NECK THAT I"VE PLAYED IN MY 60+ YEARS OF PICKING. WHEN YOU EQ YOUR AMP WITH THIS GUITAR YOU'LL FIND THE SOUND THAT YOU WANT. PERFECT FOR AROUND HOME OR ON THE GO, THANKS IBANEZ AND THANKS MUSICIANS FRIEND FOR THE GREAT PRICE.

.Picked this beautiful guitar at a pawn shop. I read the reviews about the frets and buzzes but apparently this one had some work done, no fret problems or buzzing whatsoever and in brand new condition. While I'm not allowed to disclose the price paid for this beautiful guitar, I can tell you that it was certainly a bargain. I brought it home and loaded it with blue steel 10's and tuned it up and can't put it down. I own a Stratocaster and a Telecaster as well, I purchased this Artcore because I was looking at some ES335 style guitars and tried out an Epi, but bought the Artcore and am very happy. I use a Fender Mustang III for gigging and a Fender 15 w GDEC for jam sessions and the Artcore sounds great w/both of them.
