I have been a bassist since 1995...played many styles, owned many basses, some classic, some custom, some bizarre. I have always dabbled with guitar as well, but rarely liked the feel. I had tried the Fender Bass VI, it was ok...but I didn't care for it's low end...it was muddy...like 5 strings were just right but the E was blah...I was looking at the Schecter, but then saw the Ibanez...I bought it and wow...It does it all for me...Bass lines through my SWR Redhead are awesome, and surf/classic guitar work through a 2x12 100 watt randall sounds amazing! I have small hobbit hands...and this is absolutely amazing!

.I bought this on a whim one day after seeing some excellent demos if it's tone and versatility. After a long time if having owned and played it, and then nearly selling it, I started playing some more bass-oriented chords and The Cure type stuff and suddenly realized how amazing this is for composition. I love it being a multi-instrumentalist, it lets me incorporate chordy stuff and a little guitar playing into my bass lines. It came stock absolutely perfect, it's EMGs are ridiculously versatile and paired with the active preamp in it this baby does whatever you need it to. I ran it as a baritone in drop A for a while, F# standard and played it like an 8 string, up to A# standard and then set it up again for bass playing in drop D and it blew me away every single time. It's incredible what this thing can do.

.I have no clue where to start! It's perfectly manuverable, the neck is about the sleekest it gets. The EMG pickups on Ibanez give you that Korn sounding bass. But the best part is you can do things on this bass you can't do on other basses. Because the strings close together, you can create faster, razor sharp licks and it's easier to pop strings. The one problem I've run into while recording is that sometimes the higher-pitched strings deliver some annoying tones, but by adjusting the amps distortion I get around it. Definantly not for a beginner. I would recommend it to anyone who wants something out of the ordinary but still professional, and anyone who's annoyed with how thick the necks on six-string basses get.

.I'm not an experienced bass player, but from a guitar players perspective, the SRC6 is great. It is a very comfortable instrument to play and it sounds great both acoustically and plugged in. The only downside to it is that it has guitar sized ferrules so you won't be able to but regular bass strings in it without the ball ends sticking out the back.

Something to be aware of if you are familiar with Ibanez guitars is that this isn't very similar to their offerings because of its relatively thick neck and medium frets.
