I am a professional jazz guitarist who uses high end guitars. I was looking for a spare guitar to keep in Chicago for when I am visiting. The Ibanez Artcore was the perfect guitar for me. Price was just right, great feel, easy to play. The pickup's could be a bit nicer, but at this price point, I really can't complain too much. The intonation is excellent!! I did change the strings to a set of D'addario Chrome .10 to help mellow out the tone. Of course, the strings you use is very subjective. For a beginner, to intermediate player, this guitar is perfect. You will love the easy of play!!! Plays like melted butter. I highly recommend this guitar for the beginner to intermediate player, as well as anyone looking for a nice spare guitar. If you are going to change the strings, and are unfamiliar with a "floating bridge" you should change one string at a time, so as to NOT MOVE the floating bridge. If you happen to move the bridge, your intonation will be impacted. Easy to fix this, but you do need a bit of knowledge on the subject. Any guitar tech could help you, or maybe find some information on the web. Hope you enjoy the Artcore as much as I do.

.I bought this guitar about a year ago and think it is an amazing instrument, especially when the cost is considered. I have another Ibanez Artcore, a AS73, and I don't know how Ibanez can build such a beautifly crafted instruments, that play so well, and sell for such amazing prices. They are beautifully crafted, far beyond their price range. As much as I love the AS73, which is a beautiful and fine playing guitar, this little Ibanez AF75 has won my heart. I play and sing with a 5 piece local band at clubs performing classic/southern rock and country, and at jam sessions with other bands, and this guitar more than meets my needs. The neck is fast and smooth, the electronics sound great and once the intonation was set and the bridge squared, it stays in tune for hours of hard play. Friends pick up this guitar and are knocked over by it's light weight and ease of play. It fits in a classical guitar sized case, so it's easy to move around. I play .011/.049 jazz/blues nickle round wound strings on it, and it has a splendid voice. I have other guitars that cost many times as much as this Ibanez, but when the phone rings, and my friends want me to head out to a jam session, this is the guitar I pick up as I head for the door. You can't go wrong with any Ibanez guitar, and the AF75 is proof positive of how much bang you can get for your buck.

.I bought this Ibanez Artcore AF75 guitar about 3 years ago because my friend owned one, he bought a couples of years earlier, that was really well-made, sounded sweet, and played beautifully with a smooth fast neck. So I ordered one online. When I recieved and played mine, I was very very disappointed. It wasn't anything like the one my friend had. The neck did not feel smooth as the frets on this guitar were all sharp at the edge and needed to be sanded down. There were many buzzing spots. The pickup and pots were not right either. After I changed the strings, adjusted the bridge, it still had many buzz spots, and fret board is uneven beyond the 14th fret on. The electronic components on this guitar were rather shabby too. ( I don't think one of the tone control pots ever worked.) I should have returned it then, but I kept it with the hope to fix it up a little. Then about a week ago, I took it out of my case, and noticed that the machine head for the G-string were broken off. This has never happened to any of my guitars (Gibsons, Fenders, and other Ibanez) that I've owned before. Again, I was appalled to see how lousy of a quality this particular piece was made with. Along with the machined, I shoud change the pickups and have the neck adjusted now that I want to get back into playing an electric guitar again, but am still debading about buying a different guitar instead of fixing this one...

.My experience through this guitar came through my music teacher at school. I used his for our performances because I didn't have an electric of my own, and I can easily say I played it anywhere from one to four hours on a daily basis. At no point did I feel uncomfortable with it, nor did I feel as if I was restrained in terms of what I could play. It could handle anything that our productions threw at it, and it was an absolute pleasure to play. My only issue with it was difficulty in terms of fret access, but that's an issue that you're going to run into with just about any full hollowbody. But the quality of this Ibanez ensured that they wouldn't fail to produce an equally impressive semihollow with all the fret access I desire. Overall this guitar's an absolute beauty, a steal for the price, and a pleasure for both the experienced and inexperienced to play for a long, long time.
The guitar's constructed very well. Ibanez seems to put a lot of pride in their the necks of their guitars, and this one's no different. Comfort the entire time playing, and the guitar hardly feels as big as it is. A wonderful feeling guitar from one end to another, the only issues I've ever had were intonation issues, but as it wasn't my guitar I couldn't really find a reason for it.
The first time I saw my teacher pull out this guitar, I automatically assumed it was a pretty expensive one. Has the looks of one--all the class of a very expensive jazzbox at a fraction of the price. Best part about it is that it's much more than looks--plays as well as an expensive jazzbox too.

.Kyle with customer service is awesome and the reason I have a NEW Af 75 and not a used one. thank Kyle, and the guitar shipped the day I bought it and arrived 5 days later.
right out of the box it played beautifully. first impression was how pretty it is. the finish is good and there are no flaws in the finish or binding.
the neck is a little thin for my taste but takes no time at all to get used to. no fret buzz, but then we all know that that is usually corrected with a setup. but, there was no setup needed on mine. no sharp edges. comes with flatwounds, 10's. I may replace them later with 11's but I kinda like the flatwounds on this guitar.
there is no block in the body so you have to get the right amp/guitar settings to keep the feedback at bay. I play mostly strats and teles, so I love that SSS coil sound. but, I also have an Ibanez AS 73(semi hollow) and wanted a full hollowbody. being so impressed with the AS I went for the AF and I am not disappointed.
this guitar is great for that mellow jazzy sound but can get bitey and cut through the noise.
a neighbor remarked how good the humbuckers on my Gibson sounded. that's testimony right there.

.So many nice things have been said about this guitar, I'll just sum up my experience.
I knew I would need a full hollowbody for recording, for a traditional jazz sound, but seems I used this guitar for everything, every style.
Excellent for chording, because it renders great definition.
A solidbody with long sustain will mush the chords together.
Excellent neck, textbook hollow body archtop construction.

For the love of all that is good and decent, don't deny yourself the pleasure of getting this guitar. I got the AF-75 Red Sunburst and it is AMAZING. I've read some reviews that complain about the pick-ups, in that case you can always upgrade, but I am happy just the way they are. Plenty of pedals and other effects can really maximize the sound. The craftsmanship is excellent, it is just so much fun to play. Even my wife had to give her a nickname "the mistress" because it can be very addictive hanging out with such a great instrument. Some people said it best, beware of the floating bridge, if you're careful changing the strings, you won't have a problem. Also it is a good idea to use some non-abrasive "markers" such as post-it around the corners of the bridge so you won't miss the place it should be when you re-string. If you move the bridge from where it is supposed to be, your whole intonation will go south, very fast. In my case just had to adjust the action a little bit, and it fixed the problem. I've read about "fret buzz" -- it still has a bit of that, but only when I get very spirited with it, but it does not come out of the amp, so it is not a big deal for me. The guitar is plenty loud if you want to play it unplugged, but it will definitely come to life when you plug her in. I can hear a very distinctive difference between the bridge and the neck pick-ups, and any little adjustments will create a very wide range of tonalities. -- each pick up has its own volume and tone, so you can really get a big range to explore what she has to offer. The guitar is light, but for some it might feel a bit "big" especially if you're used to place smaller body guitars such a stratocaster, but overall it is very comfortable (at least to me). The guitar does not come with a case, but for this price I got the exact recommended case (you can see my other review), and it fits perfectly without breaking the bank. get yourself one, you won't be disappointed!

Just as good

.I've had this guitar for a year now, and I really love it. I mostly play fingerstyle (Chet Atkins style), and this guitar is very good for that style. It has a great tone, quality craftsmanship, excellent playability. The stock pickups were good, but I replaced them with GFS Nashville/Liverpool pickups. Now this guitar really sings!

This guitar has a floating bridge (like most hollowbodies). I like that I can adjust the intonation, and get it as close to perfect as I can. The floating bridge has adjustment screws for fine tuning the guitar's intonation. The guitar's G and B strings sometimes rattle. I thought the problem was fret buzz. I tried adjusting the truss rod a bit, but that didn't fix it. I realized the rattling sound was coming from the floating bridge. Pushing the little pegs (on which the strings rest) with my fingers sometimes resolves the buzzing problem (temporarily). I have now moved the bridge a little (away from the neck), and re-adjusted intonation screws. The guitar is not buzzing anymore. I think I'll have to buy a better quality bridge later on, but for now this seems to be working.

Overall, this is a great guitar. My playing has improved a lot since I got it. It is simply a joy to play.

.I've owned many (more expensive) hollowbody electrics from Epiphone and Gretsch. This one has the sound and playability I've been looking for. The tone is dead on, even without flatwounds! The quality of craftsmanship is all there. The only downside is a slight buzz from the tailpiece when I play a chord using harmonics at the 12th fret... but you can't hear it through the electronics, so I probably won't get it fixed. For intimate settings this baby really delivers. If you're looking for a quality jazzbox at an affordable price, get the Ibanez AF75. Full disclosure: I did put a Tonerite on it for a week and it really improved the ability to pull individual notes with volume and sustain.
