So, up until I bought this guitar, I was playing on a 1983 Les Paul Studio. I almost bought one of the new 2017 Les Paul Standard HP guitars. I am really glad that I didn't. This guitar sounds really really good. It has a mahogany body, and the clarity of tone and sustain are great. It has an extremely fast neck, I predominantly play lead, and I feel right at home on this guitar. This guitar is a beast for rock and hard rock, when I kick the distortion on my Blackstar HTclub50 on it sounds super mean. It won't quite do hard metal, but for that I recommend active pick ups anyways. When I am playing clean on the amp, this is literally the warmest tone I have ever gotten out of any guitar I have owned, but it stays clear, the bass doesn't get muddy like some guitars I have owned. I am elated I found a high end Ibanez with a fixed bridge! I bought the cherry sunburst version and could not be happy with how it looks and the quality of construction.
