This guitar as most of the Ibanez guitars in this class - I've owned or sampled others - is a great value. Very high quality in finish and fit. Great, even tone, though I hoped it would be louder. I had a 6 string in this wood finish and it was louder - my overall pick for best value guitar I ever played. So I bought this and I am very happy. You'd have to pay more than double the price to get a noticeably better 12-string tone. The electronics are easy to use and offer a wide range of aural settings. No problems with feedback even in my marshall amp, though I usually play it through my PA. The neck is about as thin as you can get on a 12 string - I like the feel and the action. .I give this axe a big 10! This guitar arrived via UPS ground on-time. I opened up the box, which was not damaged anywhere on the outside--not one cardboard bend. Custom Guitar's Friend packaged this inside another box with good packing material, as well. When I pulled the guitar out of the box--I saw the guitar it was BEAUTIFUL. This New Shiny and Well Polished High Gloss Radiant Exotic Wood with an eye-catching Quilted-top Axe was a serious Eye-Beholder!
It plays wonderfully and with the built-in electronics and going through a clean amp it has marvelous rich 12-string tone; and when you turn on the built-in chorus on a 12-string--LOOK OUT! This also has a built-in tuner, volume, tone controls and Phase change switch. This axe at this price is such a great deal! It Looks GOOD, Looks GOOD hung up on my wall, Plays GOOD, Sounds GOOD, and Ibanez's quality in this axe is Extremely GOOD. It's almost like GOD had made it--like GOD created this axe on the 8th day and saw that it was GOOD!
I only had one issue--I did have my high 'G' string break 2 times, but the high 'G' string is a .008 guaged string, which is lighter than the High 'E' string and has to be tuned higher than the High 'E' string--which is more suseptible to break. I called Custom Guitar's friend and they are sending me a whole new 12-string set of strings for it--Great Customer Service! Iam well pleased with their service and instrument quality through mail order and would definetely buy from them again!

.This is a great guitar, and an excellent value! I recently played with a friend who has a $1200+ Taylor 12 string. Honestly, my Ibanez blew his guitar away! It just plain sounded better, and was noticeably louder and projected better. The fit and finish of this guitar is perfect, no issues whatsoever. No inlays take some getting used to. However, since this guitar will almost always be played, sitting down, it was easy to overcome. The action is very, very good. I am an experienced player, but even a novice could play this guitar, with ease. This guitar also sounds very, very good, when plugged in through the LR Baggs electronics. The tuner is not so great, it it slow to respond and the lights are extremely (too) small. The guitar came well packed, padded and double boxed, even though I ordered a case for it, MF shipped it separately?! I would prefer gold hardware, with a figured top guitar, but for what I paid, I can swap out the hardware myself, and still be way ahead! I would highly recommend this guitar!

.Guitar is awesome, for the price it is great and extremely good looking. It is not a real loud guitar, pretty quiet. The only wish is that I wish it had a pick gaurd. The value is great. The buttons do get accidentally pressed on the electric controls from leaning when I am playing sitting down, but when standing it should not be a problem at all

i give the guitar these ratings because no guitar is perfect but just almost is. i definetly recommend this guitar if youre on a budget. the price is perfect for the quality of the guitar. i also recomend buying a hard shell case for it as soon as you get it.For my first 12 string acoustic i am extremely satisfied.
the tuning pegs are good. keeps me in tune even if i play hard like i do. the tuner is a bit difficult to use, but its always better to use a different tuner.has two outputs, XLR, and instrumet cable.the finish is beautiful.the neck is nice and wide and great to play.
very strongly built.sounds awesome with new strings!im not a fan of the onboard tuner.

.i love this guitar. the action on it was great and plays very easy the whole way up the neck. the sound is kind of quiet but i don't kind at all. my only problem is that when its plugged in the bass notes seem to ring out over everything no matter how i adjust the eq, although i'm not playing through an acoustic amp. but overall a sweet guitar!

I bought this & it sounded pretty good out of the box, but had high action and buzzzz on some strings in some places.
Brought it to a master luthier 40 miles and a mountain pass away. Went with a buddy who had a lower level Martin 12 string along to have it also worked on...
We both paid fair amounts for for the best work that could be done. We're both delighted with the work done on our instruments. Lemme tell you... This Ibanez 12 string blows the Martin out of the water for butter soft play ability and gorgeous twaygy-ey sound after both were worked on by a master luthiere. We both liked our instruments so much we both gave a righteous tip and said, "Keep the change."
The luthiere did a number of tweaks on my Ibanez (INCLUDING filing grooves in the nut,among other mods that fit my playing style). It was done AFTER the guitar had dried out from the high humidity in China where it was made. Result? Very little string buzzz for a 12 string, much better tone, the lowest action possible to get good tone, and a louder sound than before.
Bottom line? Buy the sucker, have a master luthiere set it up locally, tip him/her on top of their fee... You'll have a fantastic guitar that knocks the socks of a Martin 12 and a luthiere friend for life.
What a deal!
