One of the best basses that I've played in a long time. I've always been a fan of Fender's Jazz Basses personally and I was in the need for a new 5 string bass. One of my main requirements was something not too heavy due to recent back issues that I've gained, but that it also packed a punch when needed. This bass is not only light for a 5 string (at least compared to my old Jazz bass and other basses I've used in the past), but has beautiful tones. With the active EMG pickups and 3 band EQ, I get the boost I need for some of the larger venues and the ability to tweak my sound for various styles of music that I play. This bass is very versatile. I've not had any problems with buzzing on the Low B string and when playing on the praise and worship team at church it sounds great just going straight into the board. When I play with my band it sounds awesome through my amp! Truly one of the best basses I've played in a while and well worth the money. I compared this bass to several of Ibanez's top models along with some Fenders, Gibson, Music Men, Rickenbachers and several others when I was shopping at my local guitar shop and this is the one that I chose. You won't be sorry

.Looking very forward to picking up this bass. I've recently opened my own studio and am needing a session bass (no pun intended haha!). This will be my first one, yay!

First off, this thing looks killer. Black hardware over natural finish. And the black, rectangular, offset fret inlays.. ridiculous. I do care what it sounds like (can't have nonsense sound), but if I pick up an instrument that looks goofy.. it better sound like the glory of God pouring out of Heaven and into my earballs - because my eyeballs will be screaming "no freakin way!"

Besides, most basses at this price range and up will give you a basically good tone that you can play with in the eq stage to fit your fancy.

Now, let's all go get a couple of these basses. Ready, go! And if you get yours before I do, write a real review for me so I can hear someone's opinion who has played it. K, thanks! :)

.This bass is an awesome buy. A quality bass with some minor defects. Only issue with this bass was a fret buzz from the tops strings up the fretboard. Appears with some adjustment, this bass can be a jamming machine.

.I tried one once and fell in love with the versatile tone and feel; sounds just as good as it looks. I definitely would recommend this bass to any player. The only downside is weight, the bass is pretty hefty so you might want to invest in a strap with a shoulder pad.

.South Korea made with excellent build quality, I'd go so far as say the build is better than my American made Fenders, Jazz fretted and fretless. Yes it is heavier than both but at 9.3lbs I should not be complaining.

The aged maple with a satin finish results in no fingerprints, someone called it a modern-vintage look, I'd add no nonsense to that. A quick tune out of the box and it was ready to go. I like the neck almost as much as the Fender Jazz neck but I'm not comparing apples to apples, both are a C shape, comparing 5 string to 4 that makes the comparison tricky. I'm not complaining. My first that allows me to string through the body. Go read some tech articles on that, all I can say the bass feels solid, no fret buzz, very good intonation. I guess that is it, it seems to me that getting a bass (any guitar for that matter, I play acoustic too) just how you want it often takes time, from the stretch of a new set of strings, saddle adjustments, truss tweaks, you get your bass dialed in and your hands, body, and ears are happy, your instrument becomes an extension of you. Literally out of the box all I did was tune, B to G. I've had it a month, it's been solid.

I said bang for the buck, all I've talked about is the bang so far. I was hesitant to buy online, accessories sure but to by the actual guitar, you now, you want to feel it, play it, get a sense of fit for your style and body. Spent about 20 mins at GC with a Riot 4, enough time that I figure why not take a chance, at worse I can return it. I got a killer deal as an open box sale. Best price I could find, next best was significantly more and that was a new 2nd off of Reverb. It was advertised as close to mint, what you would get as a shop demo, the description also said slight scratches on back of the body. I sure can't find those scratches. Shipped box in a box with padding and support for the neck and tuners. Cheers to Custom Guitars Friend, good price, good gear, good company to work with.

.I've been using this bass for over a year at around 100 shows, and this thing has never disappointed. It is super versatile with its EMG pickups and active 3-band EQ. I never touched the setup of the bass until recently, as I was happy with the action as I got it from the factory, but once I set it up, I never want to put it down. It is almost effortless to play, but still has no fret buzz.
The only "issue" I've ever had is that after a few gigs, the bridge pickup tends to pop up toward the G and D strings, which is easy enough to fix with a screwdriver.
Overall, I can't recommend this bass enough. Affordable and versatile, I really couldn't ask for more.
