I was looking for a less expensive guitar to just play with some drop tuning. As it turns out this is a really good guitar. I am very picky when it comes to guitars So I inspected this thing thoroughly after unboxing. Absolutely flawless..I couldn't believe I found nothing wrong, save intonation on 2 of the strings. The pickups are better than expected. At the price point I expected very muddy pickups but these are quite articulate and have a pretty good clean tone to them. Not on the level of a Duncan or whatever but good all the same. As far as drop tuning, I have only dropped to C# but so far so good. This definitely a rock/metal kind of guitar for sure. I may change the pickups out but not yet. I am not going to say this is as good as my Les Paul Standard or PRS Custom 24 but it is better than several guitars I have tried at twice the price.

.Perfect right of the box, everything was smooth and functioning. All I did was put on a new set of D addario NYXL'S and this thing sings and roars!

.Took a chance and bought this as a stupid deal of the day, So glad I did as I've had this for over 2 months now and it has become my favorite go to guitar, I own 7, some costing way more. This was perfectly set-up right out of the box, stays in tune very well and sounds great. The finish is absolutely gorgeous. The only thing I changed was after about a week of playing it was I put Super Slinky 9's on it (I prefer 9s on most of mine) now its perfect!! Would buy again without hesitationā€¦.

I'm an older rocker and originally was interested in the Tempest model. I knew it was heavy from trying one in a local music store. Then I started admiring a black C1 Artist here at Custom Guitar's Friend, but had absolutely no earthly way to purchase it. A little later it went on sale and i pulled out all the stops to get one before they were all gone. Mine has Seymour Duncan pickups, Grover tuners, abalone binding and knobs, and most importantly a three piece maple set neck. It's a gorgeous instrument and plays perfectly. I believe it is definitely on a level with many higher priced guitars. My Dad fought in the Korean War and I like to believe that he helped make these guitars possible for us! Many are now made in Indonesia and China. Most of my Prs's and my three Schecters were made in Korea. I am very grateful to Custom Guitar's Friend for making this possible at an affordable rate. I purchased the matching case as well, and highly recommend!
