Maple neck and basswood body
Maple has a uniform grain, it' strong and stable, and it has less reaction from environmental changes than other hardwoods. Its tone is highly reflective, and focuses more energy onto the body wood. Maple transfers a bright tone to the body which complements the warm tones of a basswood body.
Rosewood fretboard
The most common fretboard, rosewood is naturally oily, and works well for any surface that sees frequent human contact. The sound is fundamentally richer than maple because the stray overtones are absorbed into the oily pores.

i went from a seasoned bass player to having to fill the needs of a friends band and after having bought a schecter oman 5 bass and loving it it thought why not look into one of their guitars. the price of this guitar was one of the underlying factors of why I bought it and I must say it is well worth the price. smooth action and great pick ups make this guitar great not to mention the acsteticly pleasing inlay on the fret board. if your looking for a great quality guitar for a reasonable price this is it!Schecter Guitar Research OMEN-6 Electric Guitar Black

.Playing in a 90's early 2000's hard rock band. AIC, STP, Godsmack, Metallica, Weezer, Foo Fighters, etc. Needed a spare/extra guitar for this project. Let me start by saying this... Is this the best guitar I have ever played? No. But, for the price point, it cannot be beat. It is certainly a very capable guitar. Fast unfinished neck, decent pickups, good feel, excellent finish. I got the vintage white and it looks great. I have no problem with the bolt on neck, it still has plenty of sustain. The cutaway is carved out nice, giving plenty of reach to the upper frets. Pickups are solid, but I do plan on throwing in a pair of Invaders, just because. But, bottom line.... I would definitely recommend this guitar. I am not sure how it would do for softer music, but for rock/hard rock/metal, it can certainly hold its own. I can't comment on how it holds to wear and tear because I have only had it for a couple weeks, but it feels solid. I am not worried about it. I also own a '91 Gibson Les Paul standard and a '01 PRS CE-22. This guitar holds its own against these $1000+ guitars.

Great guitar. I purchased mine used and it looks brand new. No scratches or blemishes. It has a great feel and produces a really nice tone with no noticeable fret buzz. I don't think you could find a better guitar for the price.Schecter Guitar Research OMEN-6 Electric Guitar Black
